Palmera Beach Hotel & Spa

"Just arrived back from a 7 day stay. Positives- Food Very good overall, but not very hot, but there is a microwave. Deserts, to die for, a work of art. Plenty of variety, well presented, good quality. Dining room, exceptionally clean, very efficient waiting staff. Just the right size, not your usual AI canteen style, tables well set out, nice ambience. Staff Found majority of staff to be helpful & friendly. Location Excellent, in the middle of the strip, plenty of bars, local supermarket & ATM.Faces sea. Negatives. Rooms Very small & if choosing a a standard room, could be street facing, which can be noisy. Our room should have been a landscape view but was street facing. Well equpped with hairdryer, kettle, cups, air con. Fridge,Safe chargable @2.50 euros per day Cleaning was very minimal, did not have bed linen changed in 7 days , just seemed to empty bins & change towels, no real cleaning. Gardens Some serious maintenance is required as there were old chairs & umbrellas dumped in the corner of the gardens.The entrance to our room looked like a storage area, several TVs & matresses were dumped there. Drinks. Pool bar outside was not inviting, even though staff were very good, we werent allowed to use the main hotel bar as this was for paying guests & not AI guests which was very bizzare. There was an issue with soft drinks, lemonade/sprite pump was actually producing soda water which we pointed out, but this wasnt resolved until the last night of our 7 day stay Transfer. This is out of hotels control, down to Love holidays, i was dropped off 10 minutes walk away, at 11pm with no real instructions from a guy who had limited english, as a lone female traveller, i felt very unsafe & vulnerable Pool. At 1st i thought it was a plunge pool, that belonged to the rooms, it is minute & needs maintenance/ cleaning to the tiles. . Overall, i would say the hotel is 3.5 star, & did expect better standard overall for the price i paid. Did have an enjoyable stay, the weather was exceptional, with a few tweaks the hotel could be 4 star standard. I Believe it is closing this winter & a new bigger pool is being built."

"We stayed from 2nd may, the weather was not good but we didn’t let it spoil our stay, firstly the staff are amazing so friendly and helpful the girl that served me my coffee in a morning was so lovely and always a big smile on her face, the other restaurant staff so polite, the hotel is spotless nothing was to much trouble for them, the food wasn’t always hot but presented well, the desserts were like a work of art and were delicious we had 2 or 3 every day, would I recommend this hotel absolutely was an amazing stay so thankyou"

"The Hotel and arrival!!! My girlfriend and I stayed at the Palmera Beach - Adults only hotel and spa from 01st May 2026 - 06th May 2026. The transfer I booked with TLT was very good. They picked us up on time and dropped us off slightly up the road from the hotel, with clear instructions on where to find the hotel. We arrived at the hotel at 6am and were due to check in at 3pm. Fortunately for us, the Hotel staff on reception were able to get us checked in early, at 11.30am which we were extremely pleased about. I booked a standard Seaview room which had a nice balcony with a table and chairs. The room itself was perfect for us. We were located at the front of the hotel on the 3rd floor on the right. The view we had was insanely good!! Thankfully the reception staff were able to provide us with a large double bed instead of two single beds pushed together. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the best for the first couple of days but this gave us the opportunity to enjoy the hotel. We really liked the bar, cafe and the seating close to the reception. Everywhere was very clean and tidy, the seating at the back of the hotel by the pool was also nice with the option to sit out in the garden. We booked the on site spa for an hour which was amazing. we had the place to ourselves, with access to the steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi pool. The food was absolutely sensational!!! Breakfast was very nice, with many options to cater for everyone. I don't usually eat breakfast but I found myself devouring bacon and eggs every morning with a nice cup of coffee. Lunch was the best for me. So many options hot and cold. The salads and deserts were master pieces. The salads complimented the delicious main courses perfectly. The deserts were perfection. It was like looking at pieces of art and the taste had me wanting more and more, even though I was usually full from the main course. Dinner was similar to lunch with so many options for a delicious main course, salads sources and side dishes. For both lunch and dinner there was a chef cooking up some alternatives, in the form of burgers, hotdogs grilled chicken and so on. In all honesty, I could go on and on about the food because it was that good. The drink options were also very good. Lots of juice and fizzy drinks, beers wines and spirits. By the way, breakfast, lunch and dinner were served at good times. The staff!! I can honestly say that the staff were the best I've experienced in any hotel I've been to. They were polite, courteous and always willing to help. They were also professional, happy and always available if we had any issues. There isn't a single bad thing to say about the staff. From the start, they made us feel so welcome and comfortable. I'm terrible with names but I will try my best to remember. If I don't use a name then I will try to describe the staff. Vysel, Romona, Georgia, and the two brunettes working in and around the restaurant were excellent, very polite and helpful with everything. They were always on hand to pore and top up our drinks. They were also very good in clearing our table to make way for more delicious food and drinks. The gentlemen working the bar were very polite and efficient, even though they were busy at times. The ladies on reception were like angels. They were so so helpful, welcoming and polite. I only wish I could have done more to show our appreciation. In conclusion, we felt at home at the Palmera Beach - Adults only hotel. We didn't want leave!!! I would whole heartedly recommend this hotel and the lovely Island of Crete to friends, family and anyone else who will listen and read lol. 5 STARS FROM US :-)"
