Vasia Royal Hotel

"I stayed with my wife and 2 other friends at the Hotel Vasia Royal from 09/01 to 09/08/2026. Beautiful property, easily accessible from the main highway of Crete, not far from the sea (900 m) and from Heraklion airport (a beautiful city 17 km away). At the Hotel, you enjoy a cool and dry climate (you do not sweat). The rooms are spacious, bright, and very clean, with a bathroom and a sea-view terrace; the beds are roomy and comfortable (the bed linens are changed every other day and the towels every day). The hotel staff is very kind, the breakfast is good and plentiful, and for dinner you can also find excellent first courses (in particular the risotto with mushrooms and linguine with shrimp). At the reception, beach towels (replaceable every day) and a safe key are available (both free of charge). On the Gourves beachfront there are bars and taverns where you can eat excellent fish dishes (risottos and grilled fish, very good). The beaches are equipped and the price to rent two lounge chairs with an umbrella varies from 8 +/- 10€ (on some beaches they are free). IMPORTANT note: In Crete I didn't see any flies or mosquitoes, a very welcome feature for spending a quiet and relaxing vacation. I stayed at the Hotel Vasia Royal with my wife and two friends from September 1st to September 8th, 2026. Le camere sono spaziose, luminose e immacolate, dotate di bagno e terrazza con vista mare; i letti sono grandi e comodi (la biancheria da letto viene cambiata a giorni alterni e gli asciugamani quotidianamente). The hotel staff is extremely kind, and the breakfast is good and plentiful; the dinner menu also offers excellent pasta dishes (specifically the mushroom risotto and linguine with shrimp). Beach towels (exchangeable daily) and safe keys are available at reception (both free of charge). Along the Gourves beachfront, there are bars and tavernas serving excellent seafood dishes (the risottos and grilled fish are very good). The beaches are well-equipped, and the cost to rent two sunbeds and an umbrella ranges from €8 to €10 (though some beaches are free). IMPORTANT note: I didn't see any flies or mosquitoes in Crete—a very welcome feature for a peaceful and relaxing holiday."

"We stayed for two weeks at the Vasia and the staff was super courteous and helpful; whatever we asked them, they did everything to help us and accommodate us. The breakfast was super diverse and there was the possibility to choose between sweet and savory; perhaps dinner should be more refined, even if the meat was very good (perhaps a little too spicy). We need to work on the pasta... it was overcooked. Anyway, thanks for the beautiful experience and thanks again to all the staff who were wonderful and always smiling."

"Highly discouraged, rude and not at all professional staff, the manager yells in the dining room, the blonde waitress absolutely refuses to set the tables outside, never met such a boorish person. Poor breakfast, the dishes that should be hot are cold, terrible quality. Let's not even talk about dinner, terrible quality, often cold, recycled food cooked multiple times. I only save the salad. To be forgotten, outdoor areas and pool not maintained and in disarray. Avoid!!"
