"Have just stayed for 2 weeks in this beautiful baroque style hotel in room 101. The staff were all excellent friendly and helpful.
We had a large room with what I believe was a king size bed, a small sofa/bed, single table and chairs, dressing table and mirror, wardrobe (with safe), and an en-suite bathroom with a nice large shower.
There was also a Nespresso machine, a kettle, cups, glasses and coffee pods and sachets as well as various teas. I tried the nespresso machine after cleaning it through - clearly not been used for a while - but it was only giving very minimal measures output so we just used the kettle and Nescafe sachets.
There was also a complimentary chilled bottle of Asti sparkling wine on arrival, but we never got around to drinking it.
The room was to the rear of the hotel (not harbour view), and without a balcony, but was nice and quiet in the evenings except for the aircon unit which every 20-30 minutes made a loud noise. We got used to it though and it didnt keep us awake.
The bed was probably one of the most comfortable beds Ive slept in whilst away anywhere.
There is a mini fridge - really a drinks cooler - but useful for lots of bottled water and any medicine that needs keeping cool. No freezer in the room.
The staff came into the room daily and made the bed, emptied the bins, replaced toilet rolls, refilled the coffee supplies and generally tidied and were excellent.
The hotel manager keeps a folder behind the desk with a number of tour company trips he can arrange for you. We did three of them which were very good and I think fair priced and saved us a bit of walking and shopping around. We were to have been given packed breakfasts on all three but in the mornings we only got the first trips one, not on the two subsequent trips, so had to make our own arrangements and leave slightly earlier in the mornings to do so.
The manager graciously allowed us to leave our cases there on the last day after check out and gave us access to the spare key so we could go back after they'd left and collect the bags and change. Really handy as our flight wasnt until 11.50pm so we had a free day without having to cart the cases around everywhere.
I suppose our only negative thing was the breakfasts, which were included in the package. This wasn't the hotels fault at all, but not knowing what the staple Greek breakfast entailed, it was a surprise to learn that its so different to what we imagined. I had thought greek yogurt, fruit, croissants, coffee. Instead we got eggs nearly every day - boiled, fried, omlette, french toast - marble cake, some small fruit bowl, sometimes some really hard break your teeth type rusks with tomato and cheese on, sometimes a tomato, cucumber, cheese salad, olives, sliced bread with either honey or cherry jam (totally gone off cherry jam now) and packets of cold pre-toasted small bread, fresh orange juice and coffee.
Honestly it was too much and too different. I've not known anyone to eat cake in the mornings and as English unused to the heat something light and refreshing would have been much more agreeable. However, if thats what the Greeks eat, we cant complain too much and they went to a lot of trouble to prepare it for us."
