"We stayed in this paradise (i.e., the hotel) from June 17 to 24.
I’ll start by saying that we arrived so exhausted that we didn’t even feel like relaxing. In case you have to wait a few hours before check-in (which was exactly our situation), the hotel provides a luggage room, guest showers, and restrooms. Ooooh, a shower! If you arrive feeling really tired, be sure to take one! Thanks to the staff’s efforts, check-in went even faster than expected. Manager Tanzil explained all the details we needed to know.
If this is your first time here (both in the city and at the hotel), the hotel has a special large information board with essential details for tourists (how the hotel operates, interesting places in the city, beaches, souvenirs, must-try dishes in Crete, and more). The guide on the hotel’s operations is available in 10 languages, including Ukrainian.
The room on the 6th floor was gorgeous, with a direct view of the sea. Everything matched the photos perfectly. It was very clean, tastefully decorated, and consistent in style. Shower gel, soap, and white towels were provided. The room has a small refrigerator; air conditioning; a hair dryer; a phone; and a wide variety of lighting options: from pendant lamps to lighting built into the suspended ceiling. There’s a small balcony with chairs and a gorgeous view of the sea. A quick tip: Bring large clothespins with you, because there’s essentially nowhere to dry your clothes or towels. Hang everything on the balcony railing and secure it with these huge clothespins (see photo) so the strong wind doesn’t blow them away.
There was plenty of storage space for our family’s belongings (there were three of us) in the triple room. All the furniture was brand new, and during our stay, they even installed large armchairs on every floor of the hotel. The elevators were running every day.
Just so you know, the hotel also has an ironing room, a conference room, and a gym. There’s a bar on the 8th floor, the top floor. It’s an amazing spot with unbeatable views of the city, the sea, and the sunrise and sunset.
Restaurant. The buffet for breakfast and dinner was something we definitely didn’t regret. A huge selection—everything was fresh, delicious, and high-quality. There were many dishes from Greek (Cretan) cuisine. Keep in mind that breakfast includes beverages (coffee, tea, juices...), but for dinner, any beverages—including water—are an extra charge. Given the variety of dishes, I won’t dwell on this too much, though I don’t know if this is standard practice at other hotels.
It’s a 5-minute walk to the city center. The nearest beach is right outside the hotel—you just need to cross the road and go down the stairs to the sea. A sandy beach is about a 10-minute walk away, and there are many pebble beaches right next to the hotel and heading toward the city.
To sum up, if you stay here, consider the city right at your fingertips—you can see almost everything from the 8th floor. The Mistral Bay Hotel made our vacation magical.
THANKS 😘
To Manager Tanzil for the quick check-in, assistance, wonderful room, and help with other matters (a huge thank you from Alex).
To the chefs and staff at the restaurant. A huge thank you to you all for the incredibly delicious, nutritious, varied (and traditionally Greek) food. You have a real gift! The restaurant is a little slice of heaven!
Thank you to the DJ for 2 wonderful evenings, for the great music, and especially for the Ukrainian songs.
To everyone involved, thank you for the cleanliness and comfort at the hotel.
SUGGESTIONS✅ for improving the hotel:
1. I think it would be worth adding at least one shelf and one hook for clothes in the guest shower (because it’s simply impossible to hold everything in your hands). I want to emphasize: not next to the shower, but inside the shower itself.
2. Provide large clothespins for guests to use during their stay, or equip the rooms with them.
*Шановні земляки! Дуже вам раджу сюди приїхати і побачити все своїми очима😉🇺🇦"
