"Well, quite a conflicting review. We arrived back yesterday, 27th August. Positives, the entertainment team, buggy drivers, Habibi😂 Great location, we were Annexe but a small walk to the beach, which we infinitely preferred to the pool. No issue with the pool, not the biggest, and generally towelled and claimed by 9AM, but nice and a good vibe with the eatery team and their plentiful experiences. It is a tough walk up to the top if you don’t take the buggy, but we did it pretty much every day, to try and make the effort. Our room was big, had a sea view and was spacious. The toilet leaked though and the drain as our holiday went on started to smell more and more, it was unpleasant. Our door was not the sturdiest, it has a gap at the side and housekeeping didn’t shut it properly so we left a little note as a reminder. Now to the food, started OK but got gradually worse, we are not fussy eaters, we will generally roll south punches but it gets pretty monotonous day after day, we had a gyro from the fast food half way down the path most dinners as it was so uninspiring and ate out at least 4 evenings where we couldn’t face another round of the same old. Tables were hard to find, turnover and cleaning of the said tables was haphazard. The cocktails in the AI menu got a bit samy, very sweet and a little under strength despite the staff putting plenty of spirits in. So all in all, a very mixed review, we didn’t hate it, but we didn’t love it either. 5 star it definitely isn’t, and the daily charge for everything from sun beds on the beach to the safe and deposit amounts for towels doesnt sit with the 5 star, hope this helps."

"We recently stayed at Galini Sea View. We were a group of 8 women, here for one of our friend's birthdays. Overall, we had an enjoyable time - the beach area/pool area is nice, but I must say the hotel is definitely not 5 star. I would put this at a 3 star, potentially pushing a 4 star. So, the tourist tax feels unfair for this reason...However, this did not stop us having an enjoyable time. Our highlights were the all-inclusive drinks. The cocktail menu was varied, and the bar staff were generally lovely - shout out to Ali and Stefan at the beach bar. The drinks are all-inclusive until 11pm, after this, you can still get them at the main bar until 1am but you have to pay. So, we just made sure we got our drinks in before this! Now for the downsides of this hotel. The food at the buffet was good at the start of the trip, but quickly went down in quality. By the end of the trip, I personally could not do the food in the buffet anymore, and we ventured elsewhere. It was reheated stuff for lunch from the night before, and often the dishes were repeated over the nights. It is a shame to not look forward to your evening meal. The service in the buffet restaurant was also hit/miss - some staff members were happy to smile, while others offered dirty looks. Hospitality means being hospitable...The snack bar at the beach was OK, with toasties/pizza/greek salad, and the woman working there was lovely also. A few of us ate the chicken gyros served at the pool bar, and the next day we all had a bad stomach, so I would avoid those. One of our friends had her sunglasses stolen from the room on the second day by housekeeping. I don't want to read the hotel responding to this review by calling this 'shocking' - we came to reception straight away to report it, and checked back with reception every day we were there. The receptionist said they would check CCTV (as if housekeeping were going to come out wearing the sunglasses...), but after this, we were dismissed and turned away. Bad hospitality - and other reviews read similarly about stolen items - so do beware of this - and Galini: please make the necessary changes with your housekeeping team and hold them accountable. Offer compensation or serious action!! So, overall, our girls holiday wasn't looking for luxury, but a good time with good friends, and the hotel worked fine for us. If you are wanting something else for your holiday, I would look elsewhere."

"The location of the hotel was good close to a bus stop that went to the chania old town , the entertainment team made staying the hotel very fun mellisa did amazing games like pool bingo and karaoke Elias entertained the kids during the day gave them something to do always wether it’s aqua dance or uno AZ took us to party in the evenings giving us a fun time and enjoyable holiday along with his not so funny jokes which seemed to make EVREYONE laugh anetha did yoga with us and helped us stay fit with our all inclusive stomachs had lots of fun! The hotel deserves 5* as it clean, helpfull and welcoming cannot forget MUSTAFA habibi which you will only understand after you visit the hotel !! Defo recommend for families with kids with big age gaps or differnt genders gives EVREYONE something to do"
