Nobilis Hotel

"Great potential, but some important improvements are needed. This hotel has a great location, spacious rooms and plenty of potential. Unfortunately, our stay was let down by the poor choice and quality of the food, the inconsistent drinks service and the attitude of some members of staff. We visit Greece regularly and often stay in all-inclusive hotels, so we feel we have a fair idea of what to expect. We really hope management takes this feedback on board and makes some changes before next season. Main issues 1. Food and drinks This was the biggest disappointment for us. The food was often cold, repetitive and limited, and some dishes seemed to have been reheated. At times, eating in the restaurant felt more like being in a canteen than on holiday. We ended up eating out quite regularly because the food at the hotel was not up to an acceptable standard. This meant spending extra money, even though we had booked an all-inclusive holiday expecting to be able to rely on the hotel for our meals. The food and drinks really need to be looked at before next season, especially the quality, variety and consistency. The fact that it was near the end of the season should not be an excuse. 2. Staff and service Unfortunately, many of the staff we came across were unfriendly and unwelcoming. The member of staff working at the pool bar during the day was particularly rude. On our first day, he rolled his eyes and tutted at us, and even told us off after reading the drinks menu because it had not been put back facing the right way up? It was a very poor first impression, and we mostly avoided using the bar when he was working after that. The barman at reception was also unhelpful and refused to give us bottles of water for our room. We were given just three small bottles when we arrived, and these were never replaced during our stay. We had to buy water from a local supermarket, which was disappointing for an all-inclusive hotel. 3. Room maintenance Our two-bedroom suite was spacious and comfortable and worked really well for our family, but the shower temperature changed constantly between scalding hot and freezing cold which really needs to be looked at. Positives The hotel itself is very attractive and has a lot going for it. The location is excellent, with the beach and the town of Acharavi both within easy reach. There is also plenty nearby for anyone looking for more entertainment. Our two-bedroom suite was ideal for travelling with a teenager. It was spacious, had a large balcony, a comfortable bed and a good-sized bathroom. The limited entertainment programme was not a problem for us, as we do not need a packed schedule while on holiday. There were also some lovely members of staff. Besi at the outside pool bar in the late afternoon and evening was brilliant, and several members of the Greek housekeeping team were always friendly and welcoming. Their attitude made a real difference. Conclusion This hotel has a huge amount of potential to be something really amazing, mainly because of its location, accommodation and overall setting. However, the poor food and drinks, inconsistent service and attitude of some staff had a significant impact on our stay. We would consider returning if these issues were properly addressed. At the moment, though, as it stands, we would not recommend the hotel."

"Arrived late at night, after 10:00pm. Check in was quick and ok, pleasant staff. Room is small with very little hanging space and few shelves but no drawers. Informed on arrival restaurant was closed but sandwiches were in our room. Small in room fridge with two bread rolls containing very small piece of ham and slice of processed cheese along with two small bottles of water, nothing else in a so called all inclusive hotel. Water was never replenished the whole time we were there and no mini bar. Bars serve drinks for all inclusive up until 11:00pm with limited menu, only a few cocktails, after 11:00pm have to pay for all drinks. Was informed by barman at the pool bar, when my wife asked for a bottle of water that it is not included, in an “all inclusive”, and she would have to pay for it, beggars belief. She did not ask the price as she was stunned. Staff in bars and restaurants are mostly unpleasant, uninterested and need personality implants, staff in reception.we’re always polite and pleasant. The restaurant staff remind me of Stepford wives, they all walk around in a permanent trance, any form of greeting and smiles are in short supply and constantly on their phones. The man on the pool bar is particularly unpleasant and at times downright rude. Entertainment is limited and the little that we have seen, not impressed, Good points, pool area is very nice and plenty of comfortable sun beds. Short walk to shingle beach and town with plenty of reasonably good restaurants, which is good as despite being all inclusive we have had to eat out every night to avoid malnutrition, at considerable expense, as food in restaurant can only be described as grim. If someone ever mentions mustard chicken to me in the future I will not be responsible for my actions as it has been on lunch and dinner menu, in one form or another almost every day. We have no proof but we along with several other guests strongly suspect that some uneaten food from lunchtime did a back to the future and made another appearance at dinner in a slightly disguised form. We did always manage to eat something at breakfast despite the food being on supposedly hot plates always stone cold along with the actual dinner plates. Continual queue for one toaster, frequently no cups for tea and coffee machines, and staff who showed no interest whatsoever in replenishing them. Sixth morning, breakfast no juice and when asked why, informed that machine was not working, I could see that for myself, my wife then went for a cup of tea, no black teabags. Informed that they had run out. Suspicious now that as the hotel closes in ten days for the season that they are just using up whatever is left in their stores. They really do need to up their game before reopening in the next season. There is no circumstance where this hotel can be considered as four star, being very generous I would give it a very low three. Would I return. Never!!!"

"I am writing this with no malice So….the location of this hotel is stunning, on the north coast of Corfu, myself and my partner researched the reviews and decided that the hotel would be a perfect location, a little town 2 minutes away, and the beach literally 30 seconds away Again what a beautiful place, and I cannot fault the native people of Corfu, and Michael at the pool bar, a fantastic gentleman Pool bar food repetative, pizza that’s it Sorry the food in this hotel, is nothing more than disgusting, same food reheated and lack of choice, lunch and dinner same food, my partner didn’t eat, especially all inclusive you expect a lot more…. What I can say is there is plenty restaurant locally, and for us we visited Woody’s bar and restaurant on the beach a few times, highly recommend this wee place, food is great and staff are lovely, with a beautiful view over the bay, just stunning We enjoyed the holiday but purely because of location and to be fair the hotel is spotless our room had lovely balcony and we were not disappointed by that Honestly we had a great holiday, but the food in this hotel is not good, family’s with little children who want pancakes and waffles, there was non of that, and then listening and speaking to other folk on holiday say the same thing… having travelled my whole life I’m not one bit impressed and paid for all inclusive to be let down, hungry Oh and our shower was constantly hot and cold, but otherwise I can’t complain about our room Corfu has many many cats, some feral and some very much looked after, we took bits of ham and chicken to the kittens at the hotel, and as having cats at home, felt a good dead done All in all a great holiday, but crap food in a nutshell, would definitely holiday Corfu again but not this hotel purely because of the food"
