"Just had THE BEST spa treatment with George at the Wyndham Grand Athens. Perfect start to my holiday. Excellent therapist and a real gentleman."

"We had a lovely 4 day stay here and between the 11 of us we had 5 rooms. The staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful and the rooms were very clean and modern. The breakfast was very nice and fresh and the view from the rooftop restaurant was stunning! My husband had a massage and he said it was very good and excellent value. We had drinks in the bar every evening. They were rather expensive and quite slow but it was outweighed by the amazing view and rich decor. Shout out to the front desk ladies and housekeeping who quickly turned our twin into a double when we arrived and kindly arranged a late checkout for us as we had a late flight at the end of our stay. Best bits - staff, view, decor EBI - pool was freezing cold, corridor smelled damp (though they had recently cleaned the carpets), couldn’t find the sauna, expensive drinks."

"Stayed here for a conference. Hotel common areas and conference facility are nice, rooms are Euro quirky but clean and in decent shape. Staff is pleasant, in particular bell staff and bar manager. Restaurant across the street is really good and there are a couple of OK coffee shops close by. And the rooftop bar has a spectacular view. However, the neighborhood is absolutely awful. I can’t say whether it’s “safe” but there are decrepit , blown out and graffiti covered buildings everywhere. Drug addicts shooting up and groups of guys bouncing from brothel to brothel on the next block. Stinks of garbage and urine. If you want to walk to old town, it is about 20 minutes, but the first 10 minutes or so are very unpleasant and every time you leave the hotel, you are confronted by this ugliness. I feel bad for the hotel because this is obviously not in their control, but I can’t imagine staying here with a family or voluntarily on a vacation."
