"This was our first stay at this hotel. While the hotel itself is modest in appearance, the location is absolutely perfect—right in the heart of Athens, with short walking distances to shopping, restaurants, cafés, and bars. We were pleasantly surprised by how vibrant the city felt during the Christmas holidays. The walk to Syntagma Square to see the changing of the guards took only about 10 minutes.
We were warmly greeted by the receptionist, Vasiliki, who was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and full of helpful information about the city and hotel amenities. She placed us on the top floor with a city view. Although we didn’t have an Acropolis-view room, after a 20+ hour flight from Maui, all we truly wanted was a clean, comfortable bed—and that’s exactly what we got.
The room was adequate in size, featuring a king-size bed with crisp white sheets and a goose-down comforter. There was a small patio with doors that opened to the outside. We kept the doors open at night to enjoy the cool, fresh air, though it was a bit noisy during our Christmas stay—the church bells kept us very aware of the time. The room also included a large closet with hangers and a safe.
The bathroom had a tub with both handheld and stationary showerheads. However, the half-glass shower panel allowed some water to spill onto the floor during use. Toiletries were minimal—shampoo and body gel—but perfectly adequate.
Our stay included complimentary breakfast from 7:00–10:00 AM, offering a nice variety of fresh fruits, cheeses, cold cuts, breads, salads, coffee, tea, milk, and juices. A special treat was the traditional Christmas snowball cookies—creamy almond cookies generously coated with confectioners’ sugar—which were absolutely delicious.
Lastly, the rooftop bar and restaurant offer breathtaking, truly stunning views of the Acropolis. We had dinner at the rooftop restaurant, Door in Athens, and the service combined with the incredible Acropolis view made for an unforgettable experience. This restaurant is truly a hidden gem.
