Crowne Plaza Athens

"The Crowne Plaza Athens is a nice hotel, not fancy. The hotel appears to specialize in tour groups The staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. The accommodations were nice. It is a full-service hotel. Although located is a very busy section of Athens the hotel was very quiet. It is within walking distance of several restaurants and coffee shops. The hotel is not located near any points of interest. The Parliament building and the Plaka are about a 25minute walk from the hotel. Recommend a taxi. The same is true if you wish to visit the Acropolis. Nice hotel but do not expect anything special. I stayed at this hotel as part of a tour group."

"We chose this hotel as it is close to the Metro for travel into the City and Airport. It is a five minute walk away. So for this tourist it was fine. Check in was efficient, polite and detailed. Our room was excellent - clean and spacious. Bed was comfortable and gave good sleeps. Bathroom was well provided with toiletries etc. Everything kept clean as expected. Breakfast was very good and kept fresh - excellent choices. A special mention must be made of the young lady on the reception on 1 Oct around lunchtime who, with strikes on, managed to get transport for us to the airport in time (sorry I didn't get your name)."

"We stayed her for 2 nights at the beginning of our tour and then the last night again before flying out. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel bellhop was super kind and helpful. The free breakfast buffet was loaded with all kinds of choices and very delicious. I'm giving the hotel only 3 stars because of the front desk staff. They seemed annoyed when we would approach with a question. Considering this is the hospitality industry, you should be working at the front desk if you're annoyed by people. Not all of the front desk was bad. However, Mina was particularly annoyed with us each time we approached. She also seemed to penalize us at each checkin because we were with Globus. Others would check in early or even on time with a smile from her. We had to wait until exactly 3pm, even though the rooms were ready. After being awake for 25 hours from travel, she showed zero sympathy. On the last day, we had to wait again as others checked in with no problem. When the 3pm check in time came, she told us we still had to wait. Finally, at 3:15pm, she grudginly gave us our rooms. It takes one disgruntled employee to ruin a hotel experience and lower the rating. Your hotel is not that great to have an employee bringing it down further."
