Athens Capital Center Hotel MGallery

Less than a 5-minute walk from Syntagma Square, it doesn’t get much more central than this. This stylish hotel is right in the heart of Athens, close to museums and historical sights, and is the perfect base for exploring the city.

A trip to Athens is teeming with history, and if the iconic sights are first on your list, you’ll be able to make the rounds with ease. The Acropolis is walkable from the hotel – in about 25 minutes – or you can shave a few minutes off by hopping on the metro at Syntagma Square, which is also where you’ll find the Old Royal Palace and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Take the scenic route through the National Gardens to the Temple of Olympian Zeus – you might even spot a peacock on your travels.

After a day of exploring and sightseeing, head back to the hotel and you’ll find it’s far more than just a crash pad for a few days. The rooftop terrace is home to a pool with a view across the city that’s hard to beat.

At the hotel’s restaurant you can treat your taste buds to some Mediterranean cuisine or grab a drink in the sophisticated surroundings of the Galerié Café. If you fancy stepping out of the hotel, you’ll find the streets of Athens are teeming with great places to eat – everything from haute cuisine to cosy local tavernas. For some authentic Greek street food meanwhile, stroll the 15 minutes over to the Monastiraki district and hit the Central Athens Food Market – just make sure you bring your appetite.
