"Upside: The hotel is centrally located and very convenient to sights and the metro. The room was clean and bathroom was up to date. The staff were friendly. I booked a standard room through a third party website. Downside: the website does not state that the standard room has NO natural light. The room felt like I was in a cave. There’s one door boarded over behind a curtain and a very small window to a narrow shaft that has zero light coming in. Trying to get over jet lag is difficult with no natural light. The AC did not work (as noted by others). I had the key in the holder as instructed, set the temp, mode etc and nothing happened. I was tired from flying to went to bed on top of the covers. I was awoken by an incredibly loud alarm at 7:00 am. It went on for about a minute then turned off. Otherwise it was relatively quiet. If you are ok with zero natural light and lack of AC, this is the place for you! Otherwise, stay away."

"We had 6 nights in the Athenian Foss the beginning of November. We stayed in grande suite, which was decent size room with a balcony and a good size bathroom. The bed was comfy and once we worked out the the air conditioning perfect temperature. Although the hotel is on a busy street there is no noise from this , we could hear the clock chimes from rhe cathedral, but this added to the stay. The hotel is in a great position and we walked every where with ease. We chose not to have the rather inclusive breakfast as we enjoy eating breakfast out in a city and there were plenty of places to go very close by. The hotel does not have any communal spaces which is one small draw back . What made it for us where the 3 receptionists, Eva, Dina and Denitsa( I hope I’ve spelt that correctly) all spoke excellent English and were exceptionally helpful. They gave us some excellent restaurant recommendations and booked the restaurant, they recommended a trip to the island of Aegina, booked the taxi and Eva walked us down to it. Their help and suggestions made the break very relaxing. We’d definitely recommend this hotel."

"I sent to the hotel an email that I will arrive at the hotel very early in the morning and hope that the should be ready before noon if possible, when I arrived at the hotel the reception person was not available they come at 8am since it is a small boutique hotel, but the minute they arrived I checked-in and went to my room. The reception staff are very helpful and friendly"
