"This place is simply lovely. The hotel itself, the food, the staff, the weather (even at the end of October) and the spa. The spa being my most favourite place!
The Well-being centre: The spa area itself is very nice. The lady on reception is really lovely. Very helpful and recommended what we needed (without us even knowing what we needed, and she was totally right!). The area is calm, clean and relaxing and the pool is heated. But the best part was the treatments we had. We started with a full body scrub, followed by a full body massage. Both treatments were with Emanuel. Not only is he just so incredibly lovely (think gentle giant), he is incredibly professional and beyond exceptional at his profession. I honestly thought I’d died and gone to heaven. We then had another treatment a few days later. This time a glow facial. Myself and my sister had it at the same time in one room. My sister got Emanuel which I was sad about but I certainly wasn’t disappointed as Maria is just as lovely, professional and exceptionally good at what she does. Again I thought I was in heaven. From start to finish you’ll feel so relaxed and the end result is insane!! My skin has never felt and looked so good. A glow facial does exactly that, I was glowing! We felt very looked after indeed. If nothing else, definitely treat yourself to a treatment. Best money we’ve ever spent!!
The restaurant: There’s quite a few things to choose from in the season’s restaurant. Breakfast was always great as was the evening meal. Although each day is pretty much the same thing which for breakfast was fine but the evening meal not so much. I’m not sure if this is the norm or because it was end of season. The food was good and always fresh none the less and the waiting staff were all friendly and helpful.
The bar: We were made to feel very welcome from our first night to the last by Pascal and Vasalis. Both lovely guys and a lot of fun. They also make a great cocktail. Again probably due to end of season drinks were running out. I felt bad for them as they got it in the neck from some guests and it must have been a little embarrassing for them to have to keep saying “we don’t have any left” on basics such as vodka. I get its end of season but spirits don’t go off, it really should be stocked up given there’s not really anything else around bar one other small restaurant outside of the resort and the Japanese restaurant upstairs.
The room: very clean, bright and modern with a good size balcony and a great view of the sea. We went for a luxury sea view. Only niggle I would say is manoeuvring around each other was quite tight and the memory foam mattress isn’t great for someone with back issues. But comfy enough and nice bedding. You get slippers which is always a nice perk and the rooms are cleaned daily if desired. The cleaning staff are lovely and fun.
I will say it would be a nice touch if the tea/coffee in the room was topped up when the room is cleaned.
The pools: the larger main pool is really nice and it’s heated. The smaller pool up the top is also nice and a lot quieter. Not heated but “fine once you’re in”. The lifeguards are friendly as are the pool bar staff.
The beach: The beach is nice but a but quite small. I imagine in the peak of summer it’s difficult to get a bed. It’s a nice view when facing the sea but pretty untidy behind you.
The beach bar is nice, mostly friendly staff but not all sadly. The food in the beach bar was delicious the one day we ate there. Honestly the best salad I’ve ever eaten. And it was huge!!
There’s also a lady who offers Thai massages, highly recommend her, she’s great. Not as relaxing as the spa treatment but it was good.
All in all a great stay and will be going home relaxed, tanned and a few pounds heavier with some great memories. A sign of a fab holiday!! Thanks for having us."
