"Terrible service, rude staff, and ridiculously overpriced."

"Excellent location, friendly welcome – unfortunately, the service is not at a five-star level. I was looking forward to my return stay at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski Munich. The excellent location and the traditional ambiance undoubtedly speak for this establishment. I would like to explicitly praise the very friendly staff at check-in as well as the attentive valet parking and luggage service. Unfortunately, however, I had to notice for the second time that the service in the bar/lounge does not meet the expectations of a luxury hotel of this category. After a significant wait for food experienced previously, this time I waited over half an hour for a simple drink. Although a bartender apologized in the meantime and promised immediate assistance, another nearly ten minutes passed. The subsequent delivery took place without any further apology. Also at check-out, I did not get the impression that my complaint was taken seriously. A reported problem with the service phone in the room also remained without any noticeable reaction. What I miss is less the friendliness than the lived service quality: Personal initiative, taking responsibility, and the recognizable effort to solve problems immediately. Especially with a traditional luxury hotel brand like Kempinski, personal service should make the decisive difference. Overall, a property with many positive prerequisites, where the service unfortunately repeatedly failed to meet my expectations recently 🤔"

"I am very disappointed with the treatment I received from the staff at this hotel, particularly the spa team. Several guests complained that the spa pool was too cold. I raised the issue with a spa staff member—who, incidentally, did not speak English (only German and Japanese) and had to resort to Google Translate to communicate with me (which is completely unacceptable for a 5-star superior hotel). She confirmed that the water temperature was only 25°C and stated that she would ask the technician for authorization to raise it. It is no wonder the pool is always empty... Twenty-four hours later, not only had the problem not been resolved, but the rest of the spa staff informed us that the temperature would not be increased, claiming it was set to a "standard" level deemed ideal by other guests. It is clear that, at this hotel, some guests are considered more important than others, and that customer needs are of no concern to the management. I will not be returning to this hotel; given the amount spent, it is simply not worth it. I have traveled all over the world, and this is the only hotel where the temperature of a spa pool is completely inconsistent with what one expects from a spa—let alone a 5-star superior hotel."
