"The Holiday Inn Munich West Park where we usually stay was fully booked, so we booked this hotel. The location is good, the nearest subway station Machtlfinger Straße is a few minutes walk from the hotel, from there it is 20 minutes by U3 to Marienplatz.
The underground parking garage is from the 1970/80s and thus the space on the parking lots is narrow for the big cars of today, but as there were few guests using the garage (Euro 20 per day) it was easy to park the car even though half of the parking lots are sealed off due to required repairs.
I had booked a quiet room with a bit more sqm, to reach the room on the 3rd floor I had to walk to the very end of the corridor, a long walk but worthwhile, the room was spacious and quiet except for Saturday night when I heard disco music from nearby.
The shower was in a bathtub, might be difficult for short persons because of the difference in height between floor and upper part of bathtub.
The room was equipped with heating (required during the stay), air-conditioner, flat-screen TV, tea/coffee facilities, desk and chairs, side tables with reading lamps, a sofa, and a private balcony that overlooks the garden. Bedding was comfortable, the room clean, the bathroom sufficiently spacious, equipped with shampoo, body and hand wash along with white soft hand and bath towels.
The breakfast had varieties of cheese, sausages, salamis, fresh fruits, cereals, juices, tea and coffee, doughnut, pastries, waffles, yogurts, dry fruits, porridge, breads, rolls, egg preparations and a few other hot items.
The lobby is not very large but there are several chairs and tables near the bar, and there is outside seating in the garden.
The staff is friendly and supportive, one woman a bit oversized was exceptionally friendly and helpful, unfortunately I forgot her name.
Nearby there is a DM and a Lidl, and in walking distance the restaurants of my liking are “Kueche im Kraftwerk” and “Gaststaette Freiland”
After all the pros now the cons: Housekeeping forgot to replace water bottles in the fridge, one young waiter at the bar forgot my order, the bar code reader failed to recognize my parking ticket, floors in corridors and rooms are carpeted which I do not like but at least they were clean, the pretzels at breakfast were stale, and the narrow parking lots in the garage."
