"checked into the hotel on 26 October. This was my fourth stay at Hampton Munich City West, and while the service has remained largely unchanged over the years, this particular visit was deeply shocking.
On one of the mornings, while I was at the dressing table and my friend was in the shower, a member of staff opened our room door and entered with another unidentified hotel guest. This was extremely distressing and a serious breach of privacy and security — something I have never experienced before.
I immediately shouted at the staff member, after which they closed the door and walked away without offering any explanation or apology. I then approached the front desk to lodge a complaint. The explanation provided was that the other guest had claimed the room was his and that he had left his key or identification inside. I was told that it was standard procedure for staff to accompany such a guest to the room to verify the claim.
However, this explanation raises serious concerns. Was the registered occupant of the room checked before unlocking the door? Was the guest’s identity properly verified against the hotel records? Were established security protocols followed before granting access to an occupied room? Why was the room not contacted directly to confirm with the occupants before opening the door? Have proper precautions even been taken? What if the unidentified guest had been armed?
Allowing entry based solely on a verbal claim reflects a major lapse in security procedures and could have resulted in a far more dangerous situation. This incident has left me feeling unsafe and extremely disappointed with the hotel’s handling of guest security.
The fact that the staff appear to take this matter lightly is deeply troubling. This is a serious breach of guest safety and privacy, and I demand a clear explanation of the measures the hotel will implement to ensure that such an incident can never happen again to any guest."
