Classik Hotel Martinshof

"All aspects of this hotel are brilliant. The level of service is excellent. I was staying on business, but will be coming back to stay for leisure. The restaurant is amazing and food traditionally supberb. The environment is traditional and countrified, but yet close to the city. A real oasis."

"We booked as we were attending an event at the nearby Messe, I know the price beforehand and accepted it as prices for everything was inflated due to the event. HOWEVER….. the room was tiny, hot and stuffy, no air or ventilation. Bathroom miniature with no fan or window. Towels thin and cheap, cheap toiletries and my pillow smelt like a dog had slept on it!!!! The breakfast team are great and the selection of food on offer is varied and good. This is the only thing positive I can say about this hotel and our stay unfortunately."

"We had high expectations of this hotel, the photographs were of a traditional style German beer house with a beer garden and we assumed rooms would be located in this building. But no. The actual bedrooms were located in an adjoining but separate building which was on 3 levels and no lift. Unfortunately having booked months in advance and paid a high room rate because of the EUROS 2024, we found ourselves on the top floor. The room was old fashioned and was not particularly modern and relatively small although the bathroom was large with a reasonable shower. The bad news was the top floor rooms had the eves of the building cutting in from the roof space the full length and right above one side of the bed. Not great in getting up in the dark where hitting your head was a regular occurrence and it made the room feel small and dark. We had expected more given we had booked and fully paid for so far in advance and a rom on the lower floors which didn’t have this issue. Breakfast was back in the old building (which was also the restaurant which we used and was very good) and was ok but we had given advance warning that one of our party was gluten intolerant and had asked for some gluten free bread so they could join us for breakfast. We repeated this request on arrival but the following morning there was no gluten free bread or any other breakfast food that they could eat. Very poor service and again we expected better. Reception in the main building closed early evening and on checking out early you had to get access using your room card and then check out using an iPad which didn’t work for us. The hotel had a nice beer garden and the house restaurant was good although the menu was fairly limited. The station in Reim is about 15 min walk which was fairly straight forward and took about 20 minutes to get back into central Munich. Overall we were a bit underwhelmed and what looked like it would offer a traditional and warm welcoming hotel it was one where you got the impression that ‘positive service’ wasn’t high on their agenda."
