Boutique Hotel Erb

"I’ve stayed at Hotel Erb several times now and always find it a charming, relaxing place to stay. This time I was in the Boutique Hotel around 200 metres away — still very much part of the same “Erb experience” — and the room was spacious and perfectly comfortable. One of the things I like about Erb is the set-up and amenities, and since my last stay (about five years ago, I think) the ground-floor bar area has had a proper refresh. It’s a great space now: big TVs (excellent news for football fans), comfy sofas, and a decent beer selection. The bar menu is a bit pricey for my taste, but then again… it’s a hotel bar, not a village pub. Service was excellent throughout. I made good use of the shuttle service to my workplace, and my colleague was very taken with the fitness room (each to their own — I admired it mainly from a distance). Reception staff were genuinely helpful, and overall it was just an easy, comfortable stay. Practical details are strong too: plenty of parking at the main hotel, and the Boutique Hotel as well. You’ve also got easy access to bus services connecting to local train stations, plus supermarkets and a decent choice of restaurants nearby. On paper it looks like it’s in a small industrial area, but in reality it’s far more charming than that suggests. Would I book again? Absolutely — I’m a fan."

"We stayed 1 night just to sleep on our way to the final destination and for this it fulfilled the purpose. Quiet and clean rooms and rich breakfast buffet. Note: Breakfast and check-in are in the nearby Best Western Hotel. "

"I really wanted to like this hotel but unfortunately things were just too messy. First when you arrive in the hotel there is no reception and not even a simple sign with the address of the other hotel where you do have to check in. (How much trouble can that be). I found on there website a plan of how to walk through alleys to get to the reception of the other hotel, but good luck finding that, in the dark, in the rain. I walked for 30 minutes, ended up in the back of private gardens, in all kinds of alleys. i even ended up in a park where there was a restaurant. I later found out this restaurant belonged to the other hotel as well, but it had a different name and none of this is mentioned in the instructions. I finally drove my car to the other hotel to check in. After checking in we found out there was no wifi. There are no phones to call reception in your room, and as there is no reception you are forced to telephone the reception of the other hotel. I was finally able to login on my phone to a modem in a room above mine. But that did not work on my laptop that required the key access or pincode on the back of the modem in the other room. Obviously nobody was willing to give me that. Since we booked for 2 nights they promised to fix that by the morning. Of course nothing was fixed. I went back to the reception of the other hotel in the morning to complain. Nobody seemed to understand why there was no modem or wifi reception in my room, or what to do about it.....but it would be fixed by the evening. Again, nothing was done. And also the next morning I still had no access to any kind of wifi. Nobody simply took the time and trouble to look into the problem and since I had already paid in advance, nobody cared either."
