Exceptionally poor experience
"One of the poorest experiences I’ve had at the price. Ordered online 2 weeks before needed. I contacting booking directly by phone to confirm how to book a room with 2 adults and 1 baby and that we could bring her in that type og room. Wrote to contact email immediately after recieving online confirmation to make sure they received the note about a baby in the room, as it was not possible to book with her online - and wanted to ask for a baby bed. No response. Room was the size of a shoebox with the mattress as hard as lying on the floor. Aircon a gurgling monster that looks older than me, no mini fridge and only one room-temp 0.5 L complementary bottle of water for 2 adults - in 30 degrees heat outside. But what REALLY ruined the experience was the “Putzen mit plan” (clean when ordered) policy. Essentially, you have to order a cleaning the day in advance through a QR code - and this could not be booked the night we arrived so tried to book for the 2nd day. No cleaning service arrived despite being gone all day. Towels still on floor and overflowing waste-basket (because 2 adults and a baby in diapers). Contacted receptionist who could give us towels, but no cleaning. Thank god we brought plenty of diaper bags. Leaving tomorrow and will never come back to this chain. Should have booked air-b&b instead."
Camping with walls
"We are a family of 4 and stayed at the hotel in August for 2 nights. It was bad. Not horrible, but definitely bad. Room too small, towel dirty and the guy at the reception desk, looked and behaved ike a barman in Angola. The breakfast was awful, you had to be starving in order to eat it. No cleaning in the room for 2 days. We asked for half an hour late checkout and the guy at the reception desk, said no. At the time we were leaving, he was eating in the restaurant, nobody at the reception and when I said, we are leaving, he did a thump up with his mouth full of sausages and said, OK. The whole situation is more like a camping with walls."
Clean but lacks any room refreshments or kettle
"Easy to get to from a couple of train stops and first impression on arrival to the desk was good. Entering the room I was surprised that for a single/double occupancy room it had two bunk beds but that was no issue. The room was minimalistic but clean. There was A/C however ability to open the window was nice and my preferred option. I was staying for 6 nights and the lack of refreshment options was a concern. Luckily there was a Lidl next door open most days between 7am-8pm but a problem when all you want is a hot drink. The main issue with the hotel is the small breakfast choice and at 13.90, expensive for what I had. The bread was always stacked up in reception for the next day so didn’t fancy that option, which left me with a boiled, slice of cheese and a small coffee daily. The biggest problem was that I had a B&B rate but daily I was told that I needed to pay and had to then calmly explain to reception every time mid-breakfast that they were incorrect and I had paid. The first time they would not believe me and I had to pay again which was refunded. This did ruin the breakfast and a large part of the hotel experience. Knowing what to expect, if on my own and needing somewhere for one night and short notice, I might return but would also be looking at alternatives with better facilities. For longer stays, I would look elsewhere."
