"My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Bayerischer Hof, and as a wheelchair user, one of the things that impressed me most was how accessible both the hotel and its surrounding location were.
Traveling with a power wheelchair requires a little more planning, so finding a hotel where I could comfortably navigate the property and also easily explore the surrounding area made a huge difference in our experience. For the most part, Hotel Bayerischer Hof was very wheelchair accessible, and I was able to move throughout the hotel comfortably.
Our room was beautiful, spacious, and comfortable, and we really enjoyed the accommodations. The heated towel rack was also a great additional touch. My only accessibility recommendation would be to provide more clearance underneath the bed. For wheelchair users like myself who may require a Hoyer lift for transfers, having enough space for the lift legs to slide underneath the bed would make an already great accessible room even better.
The location is another major advantage for wheelchair travelers. We were right in the heart of Munich with restaurants, shopping, historic areas, and many of the city’s major attractions within easy reach. Being able to leave the hotel in my wheelchair and explore so much of Munich without constantly needing transportation added tremendously to our trip. We found the surrounding area very enjoyable to navigate and loved being so close to everything.
The service at the hotel was equally impressive. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the staff was welcoming, pleasant, and incredibly helpful.
Tamim was always kind and welcoming and greeted us with a smile every time we saw him.
Georg at the Concierge truly went above and beyond. He helped us arrange our day trip to Innsbruck, Austria, contacted Deutsche Bahn to confirm my wheelchair accommodations, helped us purchase our tickets online, and even gave us a map showing us exactly where to catch the train. When you travel with a wheelchair, those extra details matter tremendously. Because of Georg’s help, we were able to enjoy an unforgettable day in Innsbruck and experience the Austrian Alps.
Roman, who served us in the lounge area on the Z floor, was also exceptional. His customer service was top-notch. He was attentive, professional, personable, and consistently made us feel very well taken care of.
We would also like to recognize a wonderful young lady from Indonesia who we believe worked with room service. Unfortunately, we didn’t get her name, but she brought us buckets of ice in the evenings when we returned to the hotel and was always incredibly kind and pleasant.
Overall, Hotel Bayerischer Hof gave us a fantastic experience. For wheelchair users considering a trip to Munich, I would absolutely recommend looking into this hotel. Between the accessibility of the property, the central and wheelchair-friendly location, the beautiful accommodations, and an exceptional staff willing to assist when needed, it helped make exploring Munich much easier and more enjoyable for us.
Thank you to the entire Hotel Bayerischer Hof team for helping us create memories that will last a lifetime. Munich will forever hold a special place in our hearts, and Hotel Bayerischer Hof will always be an important part of that memory."
