"First reaction was: "Oh!, big road and tramway just outside! Instant skepticism! But that was never a problem at all, no noise inside. Small private hotel, owners did everything themselves. They were "over the top" helpful and very nice. We stayed there for 8 nights for a vacation/visiting Boot-2019. We had a room with "Winter garden" and I would recommend that. Spacious room. Room was very clean and the bed was perfect for me. Most hotel beds are too soft, some too hard but this was just like home, perfect. Still that is a matter of taste of course. Breakfast was very good and I am sure that if you have special requests they will do their utmost to accommodate you. The photos on their website and on Hotels.com are accurate. Rooms are just as shown on photos. The hotel oozes of welcoming comfort. If you want a big international hotel with piano-bar and boutique styling this is not for you! The hotel is situated in the outskirts of Düsseldorf but the hotel issued us with tram/bus passes for the duration of our stay so we could use trams/tube/buses for free. Very practical. Just a few minutes with tram to center of town. Smart to open Google maps in nav. mode if using a taxi to the hotel. There are some one-way streets to be navigated and many taxi drivers do not know the way. Negative things? Well you are bound to feel sad when you leave because leaving feels like parting with friends. And you would most likely start to speculate about finding excuses for a new visit!"

"Small hotel by adorable couple. Large confortable room, extremely clean, very quaint though the very old german style made it fun. Breakfast ok. Definitely recommend for 1 or 2 people, not for family. Will go back"

"This is a small hotel in Bilk neighbourhood of Düsseldorf close to the university. It’s a gem. Old fashioned Victorian furniture, very clean, very well maintained with rooms of various sizes. Warm and family like atmosphere. The two owners will go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Breakfast is served on the ground floor and a wonderful conservatory. You will also be presented with a hotel ticket valid for all means of transport throughout your stay. This compensates for the fact that it’s a bit off center: in less than ten minutes you are at the heart of Düsseldorf using the tram stop almost outside the hotel. A very cozy place worth staying for a few nights while in Düsseldorf."
