Alt Dusseldorf

"Nice little hotel in the middle of the old town, in easy walking distance of all the bars and the river front, nice freindly staff and breakfast...BUT We were put in a room in a building opposite, (guess its their overflow accomodation), and nicely situated underneath were 2 bars with LOUD thumping music till 2am!! And this was a wednesday night, glad we were only staying ONE night!! Not recommended at all."

"My room was dirty. A lot of dust. Dirty windows and floors. Spiderwebs everwhere. Dirty window drapes. And rooms smell like mold and old water pipes or canals... I asked if they can clean the room and the answer was: i am the only one complaining. And i should know its a 3 star hotel and in their opinion 3 star hotels can be dirty. so not realy profesional staff."

"Although I never stayed in Hotel Alt Dusseldorf I did visit the cafe bar called Cafe La Luna as my twin brother Stephen and I were pub and bar hopping around this part of town and what a great find. Walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here,a light and airy interior with great decor and furnishings including a cool looking serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this cafe bar, just a wonderful bar to unwind in. We were here on a Saturday night, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of staff who served us a beer each,we opted to have an Altbier,these were served in excellent condition we just kicked back,chilled out and took in the great cafe bar we were in. I really enjoy Dusseldorf's famous Altbier, it's a dark,mellow ,malty beer that when served iced cold is such a wonderful and refreshing beer. We really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and for a first time visit we were totally impressed with this cafe bar Cafe Bar La Luna is part of the Hotel Alt Dusseldorf, most definitely well worth checking out if your in the area and easy to locate along Hunsrueckenstraße. Well worth a visit. "
