"To start with, this hotel like many other reviews indicated, feels OLD and OUTDATED. It may have been a great hotel at one point (like in the 90's) but facilities have since been somewhat neglected and obviously not been well maintained. Location wise, while this hotel is in a quiet neighborhood, it is no way in a "convenient" spot. In fact, I have to consider the hotel to be in a "nothing around" neighborhood, with no markets, stores or interesting landmarks immediately around the premise. The closest subway station is about 10-12 minute walk (although there is a bus nearby). Basically if you check into this hotel, you will have to eat, drink and spend your money all inside the hotel. Not ideal.
Size of guestrooms is OK but dirty old carpet, worn furniture and decor could have used a fresh makeover. Staff is not super friendly either and did not even acknowledge my premier status. To add salt to the wound, they took away the room upgrade offered to me from a week ago: and I checked in at a normal time at 3pm so it is not like I arrived super late and all rooms were taken!
Cleaning service was also highly questionable. I was out one day before 10am and upon returning to hotel around 4pm, my room was left untouched and uncleaned. Then the 2nd day I returned but only discovered the room was half cleaned - bed made, garbage emptied out but dirty towels/mugs not replaced. I had to personally go out to ask for a new set of towels, fresh bottle of water and coffee/tea supply on my own. Quality of service is clearly lacking. The only plus point is, Sheraton does serve great breakfast (as part of the elite member benefits) and food quality is great.
Overall, the experience at this Sheraton is subpar and below standard. Now I understand why it was the cheapest hotel among all city-centered Marriott properties when I made the booking. It is not the worst hotel I have encountered but it is just disappointing considering this is a Sheraton, where you usually expect higher quality and better service. Most likely I will not return to this hotel in the future."
