Scandic Berlin Potsdamer Platz

"I was there on business. The hotel is very conveniently located: With the M41 bus, it is only two stops from the main train station, followed by about 400 meters on foot. The check-in was rather Nordic and cool, but fast and uncomplicated. My room was on the 5th. floor. The hotel is overall quite large and winding, so you can certainly get lost once. The four elevators are a plus, which proves to be very convenient, especially during peak times. The room was equipped with a wooden floor and was overall very functionally furnished. The safe is pleasantly spacious and also offers room for a laptop. The mini-fridge was, as is common these days, empty. However, a bottle of water was ready for me there – I am always happy about such small gestures. On an armchair in the living and sleeping area, however, the cleaning service, which had apparently just finished, had forgotten a cleaning rag. Since the cleaning staff were still in the room diagonally opposite, I handed over the rag with two fingertips. Unfortunately, there was no apology. The bathroom is quite large. On the inside of the door is a large mirror, which makes the room appear even more spacious. Only in the typical corners of the shower could the age of the bathroom be seen a little. I also found the wooden storage area for the suitcase very practical. For a carry-on suitcase, this is completely sufficient. Breakfast is served on the 3rd. floor. Interestingly, it seems that all guests probably have breakfast included, because the room number did not matter. It was only requested to show the room card. The selection is spread out over different areas, so you can certainly overlook something. Among other things, there was a very large piece of salmon, from which every guest could cut off the desired portion themselves. In addition, three waffle irons were available with precise operating instructions and a countdown timer for each. So everyone knew exactly how much longer each of the two waffles needed. There were even two varieties of scrambled eggs – with and without herbs. Of course, the classic fried egg was not missing either. Anyone who wanted to could also treat themselves to a glass of sparkling wine with breakfast. I also thought the selection of fresh fruit was good, including fresh pineapple, for example. In my view, the selection of cheese and sausage was also completely sufficient. Overall, I felt well taken care of here for my business trip. On one of my next trips, I will certainly use this hotel chain again, provided it is available at the respective destination."

"Stayed at this hotel in September 2026 whilst running the Berlin marathon. Great location for sightseeing, bars and restaurants. We arrived early at 10am and were given our rooms which is unusual. Rooms are clean and beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is plentiful with lots of variety. Would recommend."

"The Scandic Berlin Potsdamer Platz has visibly aged. • Location & Arrival: Although there is a subway station (Mendelssohn-Bartholdy-Park) right next to the hotel, the hotel name is somewhat misleading. The hotel is not located directly at Potsdamer Platz. You can see it as the crow flies, but it is a good 500-meter walk to get there. • Room: At least my room unfortunately seemed quite worn out. It was dusty everywhere with visible rings from glasses – the room had probably not been used for a long time and was not refreshed before arrival. The double bed was also very narrow, the view was only of a dreary house opposite. • Ambience: The lobby seemed uncomfortable and uninviting due to barrier tapes for queues at check-in. I would not book there again."
