"We booked a Dayuse stay from 09:00 until 15:00 on Sunday, 28 June 2026. We arrived shortly after 09:00 only to be told that our room wasn't ready. Check-in became even more frustrating when reception insisted on charging us an additional 7.5% "tax." The amount we were asked to pay was higher than the confirmed booking price, and the document they showed us referred to overnight stays, even though we had booked only a Dayuse stay. When we asked to speak to a manager, we were simply told that none was available because it was Sunday. We were left with little choice but to pay. Once we finally got into the room, we discovered that the air conditioning barely worked despite outside temperatures reaching around 38–40°C. In that kind of weather, an air-conditioned room isn't a luxury—it's a necessity. The final hour of our stay was completely unacceptable. Although our confirmed booking clearly ended at 15:00, reception repeatedly phoned our room from around 14:00 insisting that we had to leave immediately because our booking supposedly ended at 14:00. Despite repeatedly telling them they had the wrong information, they refused to verify the booking themselves and instead demanded that we either come to reception with our confirmation or leave the room. To make matters worse, housekeeping was sent to our room before our booking had ended. They refused to leave until I had to answer the door wearing only a towel because I had been in the bathroom and physically show them my booking confirmation. Even then, reception continued calling until I emailed them the confirmation myself. No guest should be repeatedly harassed during a valid booking because staff cannot verify their own reservation system. The lack of professionalism, poor communication, refusal to involve a manager, and complete disregard for guest privacy were shocking. I absolutely cannot recommend ibis Berlin Messe based on this experience and would not stay here again."

"Staff are very ill tempered, swear at you and they were close to making my girlfriend cry, there is a you blonde man working night shift and to say he is a horrible human being is an understatement. Germany really need to review this staff especially in this hotel at night with there attitude and behaviour which needs improvement to say the least. Furthermore, do not advertise you have a 24 hour bar when your horrible bar staff refuse to serve me at 11pm"

"Tiny cold room, single uncomfortable bed. One pillow, very small duvet that would not fit a tall person. Not very clean- on my arrival I had a shower and noticed hair (head and pubic) on the wall of the shower… this did not move the whole time I was there as my way of testing was the room cleaned during my stay. Rough, hard and very small towels. Toilet paper was like sandpaper. No breakfast despite booking Altogether awful. Would not recommend to anyone, unless you want to experience an authentic Cold War East Berlin."
