Hotel Neuer Fritz Berlin

"I had a very unpleasant experience with this hotel yesterday. I had booked a single room for two days. During the second night, I heard a strange noise. Suddenly, a strange man was standing in my room. How did he get in there? Through his own key card. The room had been double-booked. After I had calmed down a bit, I wanted to resolve the incident at the front desk. There, it was conveyed to me that I should not make such a fuss. The hotel did not see a problem. It was explained to me that "it happens all the time" and was therefore not a big deal. It is unclear why this happens, but that is just how it is. I will definitely never book this hotel again."

"From the moment we arrived, the customer service was unprofessional. We had prepaid for our room and notified the hotel in advance that we would be arriving two days late. Despite this, when we checked in, our reserved room was no longer available because it had been resold. The hotel refused to reimburse us for the unused nights or extend our stay, stating that it was simply their policy. The room we were eventually given was unacceptable. The carpet and mattress were filthy, and the bathroom was only marginally cleaner. For the amount we paid, the condition of the room was completely unacceptable. There was also repeated confusion regarding taxes. Our prepaid rate clearly stated that all fees and taxes were included. At check-in, however, we were told we owed additional city taxes. The following day, another employee acknowledged this was an error and confirmed that our prepaid rate already included those taxes. The situation became even more disturbing after we checked out. The same front desk employee who advised us our bill was paid in full, called my husband and screamed at him over the phone, falsely accusing us of leaving without paying city taxes that the hotel itself had confirmed were already included in our reservation. We paid more than $2,500 for this stay and received a dirty room, poor communication, inconsistent billing, and some of the worst customer service we've ever experienced. The hotel's location was its only redeeming quality. Based on our experience, we would not recommend Neuer Fritz Hotel to anyone."

"The location is central and convenient, which was the deciding factor for my booking. The check-in at the kiosk worked without any problems, the room was equipped with the essentials, and the bed was comfortable. The concept of the shower in the room was new to me, but okay for solo travelers. There was still a pair of socks from a previous guest on the windowsill. Housekeeping must not have had a good day there."
