Hotel Bleibtreu Berlin by Golden Tulip

"Very basic breakfast, ok service, ok rooms, ok location."

"Directly upon our arrival on November 6, 2025 and even before we had seen the room, we were presented with the bill for payment to our surprise and were advised not to want a cleaning service for three nights. Upon entering the room, we were met by a very intense smell, which was a mixture of smoke and other substances. The smell was so strong that we classed the room as unreasonable and not rentable. When we immediately complained about the room, it was said that another room was not available and the previous occupant would be prosecuted for smoking. Later we learned that our complaint goes back to a long time ago and is of course long known to the hotel management. For the following day we were offered another room. When asked what compensation there is for the unacceptable room, it was said that we could have breakfast the next day at the expense of the house, no other compensation was possible. Since we never had breakfast and therefore had booked the room without breakfast, we were unhappy with it. Apart from the strong odor nuisance, the room (No. 309) had other flaws: the sliding door to the bathroom could not be closed, the head end of the bed had stains and a bedside lamp had a burn spot, the toilet had a jump in the bowl and was very unkempt (heavy deposits). We can prove these complaints by photo. We booked a Superior Queen Room on April 20, 2025. Instead we got a room with two single beds. Especially given the long booking lead time, this misplanning is amazing. The spare room (No. 409) was odourless, but the seal of the door to the bathroom worked and again the toilet bowl was extremely unkempt. When we weren't full of praise when checking out and expressed our surprise at the poor treatment again, the hotel staff became wordily rude. During our stay from Thursday to Sunday we took no hotel management was, there was no sign of regret and to answer our complaint emails via booking portal we received no more a reply than to our email to the Golden Tulip hotel chain to which the hotel belongs. The hotel is in a very worn condition and the staff does not seem interested in the hospitality and reputation of the house. Overall, the formerly very appealing Hotel Bleibtreu left a very bad impression. A four-star rating is certainly no longer appropriate. ."

"We were satisfied with our stay at the Hotel Bleibtreu Berlin for decades Since it belongs to the Golden Tulip hotel chain, we can't say that anymore. While there is a first-class queue announcement, there is no longer any way to reach the reception from the room. There is no minibar and some German TV programs are also not available. The rooms are kept very clean and the towels changed daily. How the hotel gets four stars is still incomprehensible to me."
