Hampton by Hilton Berlin City Centre Alexanderplatz

"I have never posted a review while in the mist of my visit, but if it results in a fellow traveler avoiding this hellhole it will be worth it. Arrived Sunday morning to a quite warm welcome at reception, room ready, earlier than official check in, that was the highlight of the stay! Quite bleary eyed after a long night traveling so when it was mentioned that room would not be cleaned the following day, this actually went over my head. Went to allotted (tiny) room for a short nap, (bed base creaking) attempted a refreshing shower, to say water was tepid is been quite generous. Went down to reception to complain, gentleman in front of us was far from happy with his accommodation also. When it was our turn, gentleman on reception offered us a chance to move rooms on same corridor, asked me not to touch anything in either rooms as he wanted to sell these on, of course I had to try the water, tepid yet again. Again went to reception where previous said gentleman was no longer gentle, & literally turned to his colleague, saying “she’ll deal with you” or words to that effect. Another room was found on the 4th floor, hurray hot water. Monday room not cleaned, this is not mentioned on website, complained again, told 🐂 💩 story that this was to do with environment & saving the planet, I just wanted room cleaned & bed made, that has happened in every singe hotel I have stayed in previously, not too much to ask for considering the price they charge for this Kip. Tuesday evening arrives and after another day touring beautiful Berlin, we return with trepidation to this hostelry & yet again room has not been cleaned, again trip down to reception complaining, where I am assured housekeeping have been called and room attend to, however yet again when over an hour later we return to our room we find that only the bins have been emptied, my husband now returns to reception, as I just can’t deal with this despicable treatment/situation anymore. Again reception totally disrespectful asks my husband “what do you want”, which is pretty obvious, we want & expect to be treated with respect, if I wanted hostel treatment I would pay Hostel prices, in fact we would have probably been treated better in a Hostel. As a result I will never stay in a Hilton of any description again. Ps I also overheard someone complaining about insects 🐜 in their room, carpets in corridors filthy."

"Hotel paid for in advance of stay. Nothing booked to room during our 4 nights. After check out my card was charged 445.63 Euros. All that I should have been charged was the tourist tax. On several occasions since my stay I have asked for a breakdown of the charge, each time unsuccessfully. I have approached the hotel direct and also Hilton but no one helps."

"Good afternoon. Everything went wrong from the first moment. When checking in, the receptionist told us that due to hotel policy, they neither cleaned the room nor changed towels on the first day. We asked why the customer is not informed of this policy, because knowing it, we would not have booked it. There was no explanation. After 10 minutes, they had to change our room because the shower did not drain the water and it flooded, and the sliding door of the bathroom and closet was half ripped off. The cleanliness of the room was quite poor, with the bathroom and shower floor being dirty, as well as the room's carpet. We had a family room for three, and in our five-day stay, we NEVER managed to get towels for the three of us. We only had them for two, even after speaking directly with the floor maids. VERY NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE. The way it went was that one night we arrived and ordered a pizza and a large bottle of water at the restaurant. After waiting 45 minutes, and with no other customers, we notified the waitress, who told us she had forgotten. Tell me what else is missing so I don't come back????? I think nothing, and there was no apology. It is hard to believe that Hilton is behind this. Best regards, and do not expect us to return."
