"I have stayed at this hotel around 10 times during 2026 and have another three stays booked. I typically book the standard guest room as I usually arrive late and leave early, and most of the benefits I value are already included through my Hilton Honors Diamond membership.
To the hotel's credit, I have been upgraded to the Executive Floor on all but one stay (Iron Maiden was in town). Most upgrades were processed before arrival, although on a few occasions I had to request the upgrade at check-in, which never feels particularly welcoming.
The location is outstanding, and both the rooms and public areas are bright, modern, and highly functional. The fitness centre and saunas are well maintained and more than adequate for most travellers. The Executive Lounge remains a major advantage, particularly as it offers proper hot food in the evenings. After a long day, it is often far more appealing than heading back out to find a restaurant, making any additional cost associated with Executive Lounge access worthwhile.
Until recently, bathrobes, slippers, and complimentary bottled water were provided in the room. Since August, these amenities appear to be available only on request, while water is now provided through dispensers near the lifts, requiring guests to bring their own bottle or purchase one at reception.
The staff are generally professional, but not especially warm, proactive, or attentive unless guests firmly advocate for themselves. In my view, this is a hotel where staff would benefit from embracing a more guest-focused mindset. The answer to a reasonable guest request should rarely be "no". Instead, it should be "yes, and...", "yes, but...", or "yes, let me see what we can do."
Up until August, this was my preferred hotel in Berlin thanks to its excellent location, Executive Lounge, and fitness facilities. My only consistent criticism was the lack of a dedicated priority check-in process for Hilton Honors members. Queues can be surprisingly long around peak arrival times and often remain disorganised throughout the day, so plan accordingly.
Unfortunately, the recent reduction in in-room amenities has changed my view of the property. After a long day of travelling, I want to be able to change into a bathrobe, put on slippers, enjoy the sauna, and have a glass of water in my room before or afterwards without having to leave my room and return to public areas.
While these changes may seem minor, they meaningfully impact the overall guest experience for me. As a result, while I will honour my existing reservations, I do not currently plan to book additional stays.
