"I stayed here for about 2-2.5 months this summer for work and it was less than stellar. Which is saying a lot seeing as I have just finished my degree and travelled for work and pleasure throughout. During all of that, I have been camping, slept in many hostels, in yurts, on uncomfortable couches, etc. Yet staying here was likely one of the worst experiences I had (not THE worst, but down there on my list).
I was a long-term stay on the hotel side so my room was meant to be "cleaned" once a week. When they say clean they mean tucking your bedding in and putting towels out. I think my bedding wasn't changed once during my stay. If it was, it was when they replaced my mattress (which they did for the entire hotel). Maybe if the cleaning staff is feeling generous they'll take out your trash. I had to ask well over 5x during my stay for my trash to be taken out. Myself and a few co-workers were staying there. 2 others had problems with their trash, a few others had problems with other things (such as the sheets), but the common denominator of all of our problems was the cleaning and the cleaning staff.
Front desk staff is nice about 95% of the time. They seemed quite overworked but were overall very nice (excluding a few horrible encounters with 1-2 specific staff members). I really feel like they cared about the place and wanted everyone to have a good experience (save for those rude staff members mentioned previously) but seemed unable to actually get much of anything done, leading me to think that management and understaffing may have been problems at this location.
Also, this hotel markets itself to 2 very different groups of people: students and professionals (though, students don't stay on the hotel side, there's a student residence). But either way, The Social Hub is ridiculously expensive for somewhere marketing itself to students in any capacity. The restaurant is expensive and as a result, arguably, inaccessible to the student population they advertise half of the hotel to. You do get a bit of a discount for long-term stays, though, which is nice.
Important to note that there is a student residence side of this hotel, the running theory amongst myself and my co-workers is that they assumed that one co-worker and I were student residents, not long-term hotel guests, since were were younger. And that was why this co-worker and I had the most issues with those staff members when asking for help or for something to be done when it was meant to be (i.e trash getting taken out). If this is the case then I would suggest that students and younger professionals steer clear from here as they seem to not treat younger (18-25 y/o) guests with the same respect as older guests, although my "older" co-workers still had problems with their rooms. In the end, it's just a theory.
Location is good, near a metro station and right by a direct bus stop that takes you to the airport, which is a huge plus for travelers who are from outside of Europe and may need to get on a morning flight to catch their long-haul flight home. Getting to the train station takes a bit more work for those who aren't used to public transit but for me it wasn't a big deal and I really did enjoy the location of this hotel.
As for the social aspect: guests definitely lean older and there's not always people in the TV room, but when someone is in that area (i.e for a soccer/football match) everyone is fairly social. People definitely take advantage of the co-working spaces. Great place to network.
Room was alright, it lacked storage space. Rooms also varied quite a bit. I had no safe but a co-worker did. That same co-worker did not have the same flooring that I did (hardwood vs carpet). While not really a huge deal at the end of the day, it was strange how little storage space there was and how different rooms on the same floor, or even one floor up, could be. Bed was comfortable, just wish sheets were changed more frequently. It also seemed that the shower products were never restocked from the last person who stayed in my room and some rooms had multiple shampoos or multiple conditioners but not any of another product (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc) so bring your own or buy some from a store nearby!
Rooftop area is great and so is the food if you have the money to spend on it! The drinks I had during my stay were all great as well.
This hotel would be good for a short-term stay, but not for a long term one as the room is not cleaned every week as promised, the front desk staff is great but seems to have no power to get anything done, and there is limited storage space (a necessity for long term stays)."
