Hotel Croix Baragnon

"This is a lovely little hotel right in the centre of Toulouse, in quite a smart street. The owners/ managers are extremely helpful. The bedrooms are a bit dated but at least the shower was in the bathroom! Breakfast is simple, huge croissant, bread, jam etc, but all we needed. There is a downside in that there is a narrow passage to the stairs which lead to the hotel entrance, I wouldn’t have wanted to drag a huge suitcase along it and up the stairs. Also, we had a first floor bedroom and I could easily manage my bag up those stairs but I wouldn’t have wanted to be any higher as the stairs looked quite steep. However, I would return here, I loved the position and looking out of our bedroom window at the street below"

"The door was locked when we got there. We called and rang the buzzer multiple times. We saw that a staff member come out who had to contact the manager to come meet at the hotel. The manager let us in, gave me a key and left without taking any information. This felt more like a hostel than a hotel. We got to the room and there was a strange smell that my wife was not comfortable with. Since the manager was now gone, there was no one to contact. We walked out and went to another hotel. It took my travel agent several hours to reach and try to cancel. When they did, the hotel refused to refund. Very sketchy place. The manager said he had tried to contact me through email which I never received."

"Hotel Croix Baragnon is a great place to stay in Toulouse. It is in a good location, on the edge of downtown and an easy walk to everywhere. The proprietors are friendly and helpful. I had a single room, which was small and basic but comfortable and very adequate. An excellent value for the price."
