"We stayed early May. It is very conveniently located for all the tourist attractions. Breakfast selection is huge and very appetising. Staff are very friendly. It's not a chain hotel and I would characterise it as very pleasantly individualist and quirky. The common areas are charming as is the outside sitting area. The bedroom we had lacked clothes storage space but that was not important to us. The location, breakfast, staff attitude, ambience and interesting common areas were much mote important on a short stay."

"We recently returned to Strasbourg to celebrate our wedding anniversary, selecting Le Bouclier d'Or based on its prime location and generally positive reviews. As frequent global travelers, we have a clear benchmark for premium hospitality, especially when booking a Junior Suite for a milestone occasion. Unfortunately, the property fell significantly short of those expectations. The service missteps began before we even arrived. After a lengthy and tedious email exchange with the staff to coordinate a spa treatment, the bookings were abruptly canceled the day before our arrival. The alternative date offered was entirely incompatible with our itinerary, leaving a frustrating start to our anniversary trip. In the room, the amenities were vastly disproportionate to the "Junior Suite" classification. While the thick bath towels were a definite highlight, the in-room coffee consisted solely of instant packets—a surprising omission of a Nespresso machine or even a standard French press. We were provided with just one complimentary bottle of water. The bathroom provisions were equally disappointing., a single small piece of hand soap, and a miniature lotion. None of these items were replenished at any point during our 7 night stay. Basic necessities like cotton pads were absent entirely, leaving us with only standard body wash in the shower. To compound the disappointment, management flatly refused to match their own 25% online promotion, with the General Manager opting to send a front-desk employee to deliver the shortsighted rejection rather than addressing us directly. Ultimately, Le Bouclier d'Or completely lacked the attention to detail and attentive service required to make our anniversary stay feel genuinely special."
