"Upon arrival, the property asked us to pay an additional €50 deposit per person per night (€200 in total) on top of the accommodation cost… I am completely disappointed by their lack of transparency as this requirement was not mentioned anywhere in the booking conditions."

"Ibis (accor hotels) in Strasbourg Les Halles Centre: a great locationn with tram right across the street. That's the end of the good things. This hotel exemplifies the word "cheap" ........not even a box of tissues. No carpet on the bedroom floor, no heat (they said it was shut off for some odd reason and offered to move me to another building next door, which I did not want to do. It did get warmer outside, so this became less of an issue. The bed was strange and not comfortable: seemed to have a 2 inch topper for a mattress. Bathroom: no hand rails to hold onto getting in and out of the shower. Not great for older people. Breakfast: there was a manager on for two of my many days there named Alexandre: he was wonderful....rarely have I seen one person with so much energy and commitment. The food was adequte but not up to Accor standards. The scrambed eggs seemed to be from a mix. Not good. The cofee machines were often mal functioning. No fruit salad, an dthe fruit was often boring. No watermelon. All of this for my stay of 3 weeks. Oh, be aware that the main entrance is up many steps: not easy with luggage. There is an easier entry near the Novotel doors, only 3 steps. Overall, I would never stay at this Ibis location again. They can do much better. Nice staff overall. But the experience was not good."

"Location: The location of the hotel is fantastic—it’s within walking distance to all the Christmas markets, making it super convenient for sightseeing. Plus, there’s a tram stop right across the street. Note that in order to get to the lobby of the hotel you have to go up a set of steps no matter which entrance you use which can make it difficult with heavy luggage. No one helps with your bags. Room: We stayed in room 706. It was small but clean, and seemed to have everything we needed for a short stay. However, I can’t comment on the breakfast since we didn’t try it. Noise: The biggest downside to this hotel is the noise. I don’t usually write reviews at 4:24 AM, but here I am. I’ve been kept awake every night by constant noise outside. People are talking, laughing, and even screaming well into the early hours—literally all night. Even with the windows closed, it feels like the noise is inside the room with you. It was the same every night of our 3-night stay. I couldn’t get any rest. On top of that, you can hear the tram every time it passes, which adds to the disturbance. It’s a shame, because the hotel is otherwise in a great location, but if you’re looking for peace and quiet, this may not be the place. I really hope the hotel management can do something about the soundproofing or noise issues but it doesn’t seem like they even care."
