Holiday Inn Express Strasbourg - Centre

"We stayed here twice, on August 1 and August 3, and unfortunately our experience was inconsistent. On both visits, our room was missing blankets. When we asked the staff, we were initially told no extra blankets were available. Later, a staff member remembered that some blankets had been removed from our room earlier, and we were eventually given them. This was frustrating and made the service feel inconsistent. The staff experience also varied between our stays. On August 3, the service was acceptable, but on August 1, we found it noticeably worse. The room also didn't appear to be cleaned to the standard we expected. The upholstered seat next to the desk had numerous visible marks, dust, and debris when we arrived, which gave the room an unclean impression. The parking situation was disappointing. The parking options advertised on Booking.com were not available to us on either visit. We were told the parking area next to the hotel was full, even though we saw several empty spaces. I don't know why those spaces weren't available, but the advertised parking did not match our experience. Our shower also appeared to have a poor seal, causing water to leak onto the bathroom floor every time we showered. Breakfast was decent overall, although I didn't enjoy the coffee. Finally, the elevator didn't inspire much confidence. During several trips it jerked or moved unevenly, which made me worry it might get stuck. Overall, our experience didn't meet our expectations due to the inconsistent service, room issues, cleanliness concerns, and maintenance problems. We still have pictures of the seals in the bathroom, its extremely bad."

"Quite a pleasant hotel with the usual services for a Holiday Inn Express. What made it memorable was the staff, especially at the reception desk. Warm friendly face at check in made all the difference. My room was as expected. Shower okay, room okay but bed too soft. The small packets of instant coffee had solidified and housekeeping had not bothered to replace them. Not a good selection of channels on TV. No BBC. Breakfast was typical for Holiday Inn Express, but the coffee was awful!! A bit of a walk to the centre of the city but on holiday, I don't mind that, then I bought a 72 hours bus and tram pass. Very good value. I took the train one day to Colmar and that was a lovely place to wander around for a few hours. What I really appreciated was the warmth of the staff who were so friendly and communicative. Samelia (not sure of spelling) and Robert went out of their way to please. I was even able to have a conversation in Russian with Robert! Thank you."
