"We booked a superior room for our stay, I'd hate to know what an normal room is like as we had literally no storage for clothes at all. One wardrobe with one shelf at the top which had 2 bathrobes on (too hot so we didn't use them) and the bottom was filled with a safe, iron and ironing board. There were no drawers anywhere so most of our stuff was left in the suitcase which we had to open up each day. We've never stayed anywhere that had so little clothes storage available. The bed was 2 singles put together so plenty of space and quite comfortable with sockets available both sides. AC is available which was needed during the heatwave.
The bathroom was generously sized however the shower head was broken so it didn't stay in one place, we had to wedge this behind the sliding bar in order to use it.
The safe when we arrived did not work as it required new batteries, we politely asked for these, the guy on the desk said he would bring them up later which he didn't. We asked the next morning and were told that when we went out they would change them! We politely explained that we wanted to go out and needed to put things in the safe, common sense really! The young girl did then come up and change them there and then, this was completely unnecessary and could have been done the night before.
Breakfast, well, just don't bother. Firstly, everything is cold, despite things being on "hotplates" which you can touch and not burn yourself. Every day everything was cold, we wish we hadn't bothered booking this in advance. The fried eggs were solid and cold, the scrambled eggs were bland and cold, the bacon was the worst bacon I have ever seen in all the hotels I've stayed in, more fat than meat and again cold. It didn't help that all the lids were left open all the time. One morning we got there for 6.30am when breakfast began in the hope it would be hot, alas, it was still all cold so goodness knows how long it had been already been sat there waiting for. The pancakes were thin and dried up, the fruit salad had been roughly chopped and everything included, including the core and stalk of an apple! The toasting machine is set so low that most days I needed to put my bread through two or three times in order for it to be toasted properly. We also watched one lad about 10/11 sneeze all over the jams/chocolate spread all of which had their lids open so we avoided those, the guy "supervising" breakfast didn't even change them after this had happened which he did witness, we both commented on this rather loudly to make a point so please don't be fooled by the nice poster in the lift advertising breakfast as it really looks nothing like it.
Next the fridge in the room had a couple of bottles of water, a jug for refilling water downstairs, a can of coke, a can of water and a packet of crisps (who puts crisps in a fridge) there was nothing to tell you if these were complimentary or had to be paid for so we left those alone The jug was brilliant though as you fill up with ice and water from the bar downstairs. Now the bar..... You are watched like a hawk when you go near it and I tired to open one of the fridges to get two cold cans out after I had asked. The guy stood and watched me before making a point of saying to me "you don't go in there" and then unlocking it. No need for this at all! Don't buy cans of coke etc from there as they charge $5 each, there is a corner shop just up from the hotel with a friendly guy serving.
Finally, mu husband is lactose intolerant and can only drink soya or oat milk. On our first morning we asked if we could take a small amount in a glass up to our room to put in our fridge for tea/coffee etc and were told in no uncertain terms no and to ask for small cartons at reception. These were provided in the room already and not suitable for my husband. We have never stayed anywhere that didn't accommodate this request so I was flabbergasted at how insensitive this was. There was no point in buying a carton of this for a few nights stay as it would have been wasted and we didn't think we would need to as I say, this has never been an issue anywhere else.
The girls on reception were polite and lovely to talk to, the guy that was there, not so much.
Overall, whilst we loved our time in Paris, this hotel was disappointing overall for so many reasons. When we return, we will be staying elsewhere."
