"We recently spent five nights at the Hôtel Plaza Athénée in Paris, and it is now our favorite hotel in the city.
The hotel is in a wonderful location on Avenue Montaigne, close to great shopping, restaurants, and many of the sights we wanted to see. We also loved the hotel itself. The red awnings, beautiful architecture, and classic Parisian style give the Plaza Athénée so much character.
From the moment we arrived, we felt very welcome. Louise Prevost, Director of Guest Relations, greeted us personally and took us to our room. She was so warm and gracious, and it was a wonderful way to begin our stay.
We had booked a newly renovated Junior Suite and were very fortunate to be upgraded to a beautiful suite with a balcony and an incredible view of the Eiffel Tower. The suite was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. We especially loved the marble bathroom with its soaking tub and separate walk-in shower.
One of our favorite memories was sitting on the balcony in the evening and watching the Eiffel Tower light up and sparkle. We never got tired of that view.
The service throughout the hotel was excellent. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful, and we always felt well taken care of.
The housekeeping team was wonderful. Our room was cleaned twice a day, and everything was always in perfect order. They paid attention to all the little details, which we really appreciated.
The concierge team was also a big part of what made our stay so enjoyable. I contacted them before our arrival with quite a few requests, including restaurant reservations and activities. They were extremely responsive and helpful and were able to arrange a reservation at La Renommée Restaurant as well as excellent seats at the Crazy Horse.
Lilli was especially wonderful and she was always responsive and answered all of my questions in great detail. Once we arrived, the concierge team continued to give us great suggestions and recommendations. Their knowledge of Paris was impressive, and they made planning our days much easier.
We had breakfast in the beautiful hotel restaurant every morning. We enjoyed the food and thought the service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and attentive, and it was a very nice way to start each day.
I was also celebrating a special occasion during our stay, and the hotel did so much to make it memorable. I was surprised and delighted by the beautiful gifts and thoughtful treats that were waiting for me. Those personal touches meant a lot to me and were something I will remember.
We also really enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel. There was always a nice energy throughout the property. It felt lively without losing the elegance that makes the Plaza Athénée so special.
On our last evening, we had dinner at La Terrasse Montaigne and sat outside on the terrace. It was fabulous and a wonderful way to finish our stay.
We also had the pleasure of meeting François Delahaye, the General Manager. He was engaging, gracious, and delightful to talk with. It was clear how much pride he takes in the hotel and its traditions. We enjoyed meeting him very much.
What we loved most about the Plaza Athénée was not just the beautiful room or the location. It was the combination of the setting, the service, the staff, and the feeling we had throughout our stay. We felt genuinely welcomed and cared for.
This was one of those hotel stays where we were sad to leave. The Plaza Athénée is now our favorite hotel in Paris, and we are already looking forward to returning.
