Le A Paris

"I was really disappointed by my recent stay at Le A. Before arriving, we were informed that only the hotel’s façade would be undergoing maintenance. However, when we arrived, we discovered that this wasn’t the case. While waiting for our rooms to be prepared, we asked to use the lobby restrooms and found that they, too, were under renovation. They were in a poor state: filthy, with doors off their hinges, which was not what we expected from a hotel of this standard. The staff offered us a temporary room so we could change and use the bathroom. Unfortunately, the room was in equally disappointing condition. The carpet was visibly dirty, what should have been white had turned a grimy grey, and the room was extremely dusty. I have asthma and dust allergies, and my symptoms started almost immediately. The towels also had an unpleasant odor. When we mentioned it to the staff, we were told that this couldn’t be the case because the towels were new, rather than having our concern taken seriously. By the following morning, I left the hotel with a significant asthma attack and a headache. Service also fell short. After a long journey from the airport, no one came to assist us with our luggage. The luggage cart was instead being used to hold shipping packages, which left a poor first impression. I stayed at Le A four years ago and had a wonderful experience, which is why I chose to return. Sadly, the hotel has declined considerably since then. Maintenance work is understandable, but guests should be given accurate information beforehand, and cleanliness should never be compromised. This stay was a very disappointing contrast to my previous visit."

"When we arrived, the elevator was broken, but was fixed the next day. However, what was really sort of disturbing was the fact that we did not have daylight in the room due to maintenance of the building - we would not have booked if we had known in advance. Otherwise, friendly staff."

"A class above other Paris hotels I’ve stayed in. The staff were welcoming, accommodating, professional and friendly. Rooms are clean, comfortable and well equipped. A welcome drink on arrival after a long, stressful and extremely hot journey was a lovely touch. Highly recommend. "
