La Clef Louvre Paris

"I chose this hotel based on the location and general description. This is an older small, quaint hotel with true Parisian atmosphere. Located near the Louvre, it was the perfect choice. The room was amazing - we were on the 6th floor and had a little balcony with a table and chairs. It is on a quiet street. Every staff person was helpful and courteous, and the daily room care was excellent. We were given bottles of water daily at no charge, and there is a beverage center on the entry level that is always open for coffee/tea/hot chocolate, etc. We opted not to have breakfast in the hotel, but this is available each morning. The kitchen set-up was much more than we needed (dishes, pans, utensils, etc.) but it all came in handy. We walked just a short distance to a circle with a taxi stand, so transportation was easy. The surrounding area is clean and safe, and holds many cafes with a variety of food for all meals. We found the central location perfect for walking to many sites (Louvre, Notre-Dame), and we visited the gardens at the Palais Royal several times. I would definitely stay here again."

"We stayed in room 508, a junior suite. It was quite small, and the worst part was that the hotel controlled the air conditioning. Even when the temperature outside was almost 80 degrees, our room was heated to full. We had to ask the hotel staff to turn off the heat, and it only happened on the third night of our stay. In addition to the air conditioning issue, the housekeeping needs improvement. The room was dusty, and obviously the floor was sandy. the front desk staff was indifferent and didn’t seem to care about our needs. It’s hard to believe that this is a five-star hotel."

"Wonderful hotel. Very comfy rooms, well appointed - lovely touches of quality bathroom products and yummy treats. Having large balcony, lounge area, full kitchen and washing machine so good. Staff were super friendly. The location would not be my first choice - a bit too many (other) tourists for my liking (yes, I appreciate the irony) but my son wanted to be near the Louvre and it was very convenient for all major attractions. But most of Paris is. Would stay again, if only they could move to the left bank!"
