"The only real positive of this hotel is it's location, being situated close to the Latin Quarter and Notre Dame and an easy walk from the Seine. However, I would struggle to find any other positives. Our room was the smallest I have ever stayed in. We couldn't even find space to open our small cabin bag size suitcases. The safe didn't work, the coffee machine only worked sporadically, there were no sockets anywhere near to the one mirror which was in the dark entrance area, the light in the bathroom constantly flickered and even for someone without epilepsy, this caused dizziness, and I suspect the electrics were very 'dodgy' as the socket for the coffee machine was very wobbly too. Despite being a chilly few days in March, the room was so hot we couldn't sleep, despite the heating being off in the room and the towel rail being switched off. The window was single glazed and so we could hear everything from the street below - people, traffic, the bins, etc. The breakfast choice was minimal, the only hot item being the option to boil your own egg, and there was only one hot drinks machine which kept needing sorting out (there was only ever one member of staff in the breakfast area). The room was clean but very tired.
After our first sleepless night due to the heat and noise, we decided to politely ask if we could have a different room due to all the issues listed above. We were advised that the only alternatives would be exactly the same! They also said the heating level was 'set' for the whole hotel and could not be altered. We then asked if we could at least have an extension cable, an electric fan and if someone could look at the bathroom light. Reluctantly the receptionist found an extension lead, said a fan would be delivered and someone would look at the light. The fan arrived but the light continued to flicker. It was disappointing that we had to make these suggestions, rather than the receptionist making them, and that all the rooms appear to be in the same poor state!"
