"We loved our stay at Hotel Marignan. The location cannot be beat -- neither can the price! This is a classic family-owned hidden gem in the heart of the Latin Quarter. Many main Paris sites are a short walk away -- the Cluny museum is right around the quarter, Notre Dame, Sainte-Chappelle, Luxembourg Gardens, Pantheon are all 10-15 minutes door to door. The location alone would make it worth a stay, but the location is only the beginning! Everyone working here was helpful and friendly. Staff speak multiple languages. Our room was small and cozy (typical for an older hotel) and spotlessly clean. We were fortunate to have a terrace. There is no air conditioning, but we found the room The free breakfast was a simple, traditional Parisian breakfast (hot drink, orange juice, croissant and baguette) of very high quality: the baguette and croissant are fresh from the bakery, and the coffee is hot and delicious. Breakfast is a great chance to chat with other travelers from around the world and exchange ideas. The hotel is on a quiet pedestrian street in the Latin Quarter and we didn't find street noise exceptionally bothersome. The noise level inside the hotel was quiet for most of our stay, except for our last night when our neighbors spent a long time talking loudly. They seemed to be having an enjoyable evening, but it was annoying when we really needed to get some sleep before our flight the next day. Bring ear plugs just in case!
We also loved that it was a very easy direct train ride from/to airport Charles de Gaulle, with the Saint Michel Notre Dame RER stop just a few blocks from the hotel. Good Metro and bus connections to other sites in the city as well. Every convenience you need is located nearby, including an award-winning bakery, classic cafes, several small supermarkets for necessities, and interesting shops. We will definitely make Hotel Marignan our home-away-from-home the next time we visit Paris."
