Pullman Paris La Defense

"This is a top hotel in the business district and I had high hopes. Unfortunately, one of the escalators leading to the main reception was broken and I had to carry my case down a flight of stairs. If coming from the station on foot that’s very inconvenient, however arriving by car avoids the three flights of stairs from the main plaza. The Hotel made a great first impression, with an airy reception and exceptionally quick and friendly check-in. My room however left something to be desired. Whilst spacious and with all the amenities one would expect, the room was quite worn in places. In particular the carpet which had some fairly obvious stains on it and parts of the bathroom which were quite tatty. Additionally, the lighting in the room was very yellow and quite dim, not ideal when one needs to work. I stayed in a superior room, which is the basic level, and found it overall to be very good. It was very spacious, the bed was very comfortable, the desk area was excellent for working and the bathroom had a choice of bath or walk-in shower. A selection of good quality toiletries was provided as were lovely other touches such as cotton pads and face cloths. I ate at the restaurant and both the food and service were good. Breakfast was all alright with a wide selection of hot and cold, sweet and savoury items on offer. Overall, I would rate this hotel as a good place to stay, it just needs a little bit of an update in some areas."
