Base yourself in buzzy Batignolles
When it comes to choosing an arrondissement for a whirlwind trip to Paris, the 17th should definitely make the shortlist. Home to its fair share of locals, this residential spot is teeming with great places to eat, drink, and party like a Parisian. It’s got great public transport links, too, so seeing the rest of the city will be a breeze.
But don’t hop on the first metro out of here – this neighbourhood has plenty to offer. Batignolles has a buzzy, bohemian reputation, and you can expect to find indie shops, local cafés, and hole-in-the-wall bistros dotted around the streets – with a lively atmosphere for good measure. And when you do fancy seeing what the rest of Paris has to offer, there’s a metro station just five minutes’ walk from the hotel.
So where will you head first? The Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower are both reachable in about half an hour on the metro, while a trip to the Louvre will take about 20 minutes. If it’s Montmartre and the iconic Moulin Rouge that are calling your name, that’ll take about 15 minutes on the metro, or you could stretch your legs and stroll the 25 minutes through the city streets.
You can kick off your busy days with a trip to the hotel’s breakfast buffet, which is a plentiful spread of hot and cold fare that’ll be sure to tide you over until lunch. As for dinner, the on-site restaurant serves a Mediterranean-inspired à la carte menu in a laid-back setting. And if nothing there takes your fancy, wander out into the city and you’ll be spoiled for choice.
