Hotel Gaston

"I stayed in this hotel with my children from the 25th to the 28th of October. Our room was allocated on the ground floor which suited me just fine. The bedroom was spacious, clean and we had a walk-in bathroom, overall the hotel was cute, clean just what I was looking for. Not far from the centre of Paris with a few restaurants nearby and a bakery with fresh daily sandwiches. Breakfast at the hotel was simple but fulfilling with fresh croissants fruit, cereals, baguettes, a selection of cheeses yoghurt etc as well as orange and apple juice. The staff well... Leo, Chahrazed from the front desk were so friendly and professional. Also, the cleaning ladies Marina & Angela so friendly always smiling and making us feel welcomed. These are just a few of the Gems that helped our stay pleasant. Hope the managers know the gems they have working there."

"very nice hotel, chic and different vibe and super cool interior!! reception staff super lovely, catering and helpful as we were english and didn’t know a whole lot of french unfortunately! Rooms were super clean and beds new matresses and comfy. Option to pull the double bed apart into twin beds. The open door windows were gorgeous and gave you the parisian feel! Bathroom nice and clean with great utilities such as argan oil shampoo Hotel is 10 minute walk to the nearest metro station Pont Cardinet 5 minute walk to the best patisserie we’ve ever had, the french bastards! Very few nit picks such as the lift was super tiny but wasn’t a problem whatsover the rooms are also quite small but was perfectly fine for 2 people but wouldn’t recommend for big families the bathroom was super clean but the shower was quite odd, more of a mist than water pressure so had to hold onto the shower head but again wasn’t really an issue"

"The hotel had friendly staff, and it has a really nice and warm vibe. The interiors are not polished and the walls had some scruffs, but that gives it its chic look. You would most likely get the very best from the place if travelling alone or as a couple, as the rooms are beyond cosy! The lift can just about carry two people We reserved the privilege room with a cot as it was me and my husband travelling with our 2 year old daughter. The room was very modest in size. We had to fold our pram and just about managed to fit in our large suitcase. Navigating the room with the 3 of us was a bit of a challenge to say the least, as it is always awkward getting ready. That said, the room is clean and we have a lovely view of the overlooking street. The biggest gripe with the place is the shower. You essentially need to hold it, as the way it is situated is not hanging overhead, but directly in front of you (which is weird). If you leave it that way, the water gets everywhere. We has to use a couple of towels to dry the floor which is a waste. The flow of the water won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. I personally didn’t mind it, but can see why it would annoy people as it feels like mist spray rather than a steady stream of water. The breakfast was a usual affair in that it was continental with cold cuts. There were no hot foods such as porridge. Location wise - it is a little out of central Paris, but you have two metros within walking distance which were Wagram and Pont Cardinet. A tip for parents - you are are better off going to Pont Cardinet as it is one of the few metros in Paris to have a lift and escalators. As far a 3 star city hotels go, Hotel Gaston ticks all the boxes. And for the value that you are paying for a night, it is worth it. However for families - even when travelling with under 2, definitely order a triple room. Even if they say a double room can fit a cot, it is one mighty squeeze."
