"Our family’s first visit to Paris couldn’t have started at a more beautiful hotel. From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel welcome. The bellman was helpful and friendly, and his recommendations were right on point. Melissa made check-in seamless. She was warm and wonderful with our kids. The kids have many surprises in store for theThe kids had many surprises in store for them, She gave us a tour of the hotel, and made sure we could text her if we needed anything before she parted ways. Being in a foreign country for the first time, that was so reassuring. We had a lot of questions on our first night, and she never made us feel like we were asking too much. Every request was handled promptly and without a hitch. When we realized we needed outlet adapters and asked about a clothing steamer, both were brought to our room within minutes. After many years of travel, that level of thoughtful, responsive service really stood out. Everyone we met was friendly and eager to help, even when there was a slight language barrier. The concierge is very helpful. We could not leave them until they were confident all questions had been answered. After a long day of travel, we ordered room service. It arrived promptly with a smile, and the food was delicious—the steak was excellent, and the kids loved the pizza. The turndown service was also impeccable, and the Eiffel Tower view was incredible. This was only our first night here. Seven more to go and I can’t wait to see them top this first night. Just needed to post. We highly recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again. A truly memorable five-star experience!"

"I like to go for a drink or lunch at luxury hotels. This time my choice fell on the Maison Roland at the Shangri-La just for a drink. I wanted to enjoy the last mild evening in a garden, before the return of the announced bad weather. I arrived a little early at 5:45 PM and the hostess asked me to go wait elsewhere even though there were people in the room. Fine! Returning half an hour later, another person told me that it is impossible to have a drink on the terrace even though there were tables. Let me explain: You have to sit inside the restaurant, then order, wait for the drink, then once served at the table, go sit outside. When I expressed my surprise at "this convoluted mess," the response was "we are not allowed to serve drinks outside." Can someone tell me who gives this completely absurd order? As for the luxury hotel aspect, we'll pass. I have a lot to say to management....Then I went to have a second drink at the Botaniste bar. Much better experience. Perfect and friendly service without being overly familiar. A downside for the plastic flower wall that looks more like Gifi decor than a luxury hotel. Ultimately, this did me a favor because I was looking for an activity for my 3rd life. That's it, I found it: Luxury hotel & gastronomy auditor! With my career as a senior executive in public relations at large companies, including Accor and at the Ministry of Tourism, my personal experiences as a kitchen commis for a 3-star Michelin restaurant, my pastry training at Ferrandi two years ago, my refined palate, my sharp eye for detail...and my critical mind, I have the qualities to be a mystery shopper or write audit reports on luxury establishments. Dare you, Shangri-La, to entrust me with assignments???"

"I have an unpleasant experience at Shangari-La. Upon check out the bill was not correct and we forced to discuss about the items which we didn’t use and have. We asked for late check out and it was approved but one of the staffs didint even know and questioned us and then they realized they were wrong! There was lack of coordination among the staff. Another thing was we arranged our breakfast to serve late at the room but no body was aware and it created a problem while they want to give us the bill. Last but not least, the staff were extremely rude and acting disrespectful and had a very snobby attitude! We are Shangari-La members for years and honestly this stay at Shangari-La Paris was extremely disappointing. We paid 4000 Euros for each night and expect atleast a respectful behavior. There are lots of fancy, luxury and high end hotels in Paris with lots of great options. For Shangari-La our recommendation is to work on staff trainings and behaviors."
