"Our flight from Los Angeles on February 19 was delayed, and although the hotel emailed asking for our arrival time, I wasn’t able to respond while traveling. We arrived around 7 PM and were surprised to find no one at reception. This is not a traditional hotel setup—it felt more like a small Airbnb. The key was hanging on the doorknob, and there were instructions, but we were not aware of them at the time.
Our friend, who had his own separate room booked, came by briefly to help us figure things out since there was no staff available. When we called the front desk, a man answered and immediately yelled, “Why are there three of you? It says only two.” Instead of calmly asking how he could help, he was confrontational and rude. He appeared to be watching us on camera, as no one was physically present.
Later, when we returned, the same employee approached me and asked why I reported him to Expedia. I explained that I did not report him—I simply responded to Orbitz’s automated check-in questions. His approach was again confrontational. When I asked him to reflect on how he spoke to me earlier, he dismissed it and said it was because I “couldn’t hear him,” which was not the issue. His tone was consistently disrespectful.
During our stay, he also approached my husband in the middle of our trip to request city tax payment while we were rushing out for a scheduled tour. We informed him we would pay before checkout.
Additionally, we experienced multiple issues: we were locked out one evening and had to wait about 45 minutes for assistance, as no one was available at the front desk. Bed was also uncomfortable!On our departure morning around 9 AM, again, no one was present to assist. We could not wait for someone to show up just to pay the city tax because we did not want to risk missing our flight.I also saw a roach in the room but chose not to escalate it at the time.Overall, this experience was very disappointing. Nice is a beautiful city, and the people we encountered elsewhere were kind and welcoming but unfortunately, this stay negatively impacted our trip. I would not recommend this place."
