Aston La Scala

"We stayed here as a group of 7 girls for 4 nights in three different rooms on three different floors. Hotel Location is good. The pool area has no shade, could do with some umbrella's. The pool itself is a little dirty with dirt lines where the water sits. The soft drinks are very expensive at the hotel, nearly the same price as the alcohol. The buffet breakfast is nice and good value for money and the staff up there were really pleasant, some of the staff on reception could do with a couple of lessons in hospitality mind! When we checked in we were given the keys to an already occupied room which gave everyone a fright! we complained and did get a sorry on that occasion and a one off 10% discount on hotel drinks, but we didn’t use it. On our last day, someone let themselves into our room in the morning, walked in seen me and my friend were sleeping then left again. You can imagine how uncomfortable we were with this and I was 7 months pregnant. Then there was loads of noise like drilling and banging coming from the room next door. We complained to reception but she (Tamina, unsure of spelling) basically said well there’s no reports on the system and that she’d have to check the cameras to see who it was. Her attitude was poor towards us and the situation, she never apologised, made us feel like we were lying to her and didn’t offer any sort of gesture of good will as an apology and just wanted to know what time we were checking out. When we got back to the room reception rang and right away asked me to hold because “someone has asked me to ring you but I don’t know why”. Turned out they were just checking to see if we were in and were pushy to get us to check out so they could do some maintenance work in there, and whilst I was on the phone to them some guy just let himself in again didn’t say anything then left again! I said to the staff it’s outrageous and someone’s just done the same thing as this morning and it’s not ok. The staff were just like oh yeah that will be the maintenance people seeing if you’ve checked out like it was no big deal! I’d already told the receptionist down stairs we’d be checking out at 12 and then they called again to continually ask and again I told them 12 as that is the check out time. If you want no faff holiday I probably wouldn’t recommend"

"Just lovely, location, food, staff, everything TOP! Lastly the roof top bar. Magic. Thank you to everyone at the Aston."

"Really enjoyed our stay. It’s in the perfect location. Close to the old town and easy to get to everywhere on the tram. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The moon bar and pool is lovely but drinks are very expensive. The breakfast was excellent with great options for every taste. We would recommend and look forward to staying again."
