Hotel Suisse Nice

"We have just come back from a fabulous week in Nice. We stayed at the Hotel Suisse for our stay in a Privilege room on the 5th floor with a balcony and amazing view of the Promenade. The hotel itself is clean and the staff were tremendous: very polite and helpful and sorted out minor issues quickly and professionally. All staff without exception were friendly and helped create the overall atmosphere in the hotel. The room itself was kept well by housekeeping and we appreciated the tea and coffee making and the beautiful view. There is road noise inevitably but the sound proof balcony doors worked well and the air con was much appreciated. The lift is a bit rickety but worked ok. Location of the hotel is perfect: a quick walk down the Promenade and you’re in the Old Town. Altogether a great week to look back on and the hotel did not let us down."

"The hotel does not meet the advertised 4-star rating, the interior, furniture, and plumbing are 30 years old, the bathroom hasn't seen a renovation in a long time. Reception and dining room where breakfasts are served literally in one room and it is 40 sq m. I don't understand what we paid for, the hotel is a 2-star maximum, the view from the window is onto a noisy road with trucks and a public beach where people are from morning till evening."

"we had booked our hotels both in Romy and Nice American Express, the first one in Rome was fabulous the second one in Nice was not. we travel quite a bit and stay at nice hotels, so we know what to look for. I don’t know how this hotel ever got four stars! The location is fabulous. The views are great, but the hotel itself is very old and is not up to four star standards. One elevatorcan only fit two maximum maybe three people. The rooms are small, very small. The room on our cruise ship was bigger if that gives you an idea. I do not recommend this hotel at all there are better choices for a lot less. Of course, I found this out after we checked in. Hi myself, was ready to leave and complain to the Front Desk, but by the way of their attitude, they did not care. no restaurant except for breakfast continental. For about $30. Of course we did not eat there. There were a lot of choices much less and way better than them. I spoke to some of the locals specially a drivers and they agreed and they knew about this hotel. The only thing it’s got going forward is the view. I will complain to American Express and tell him to please take it off their recommended hotel site."
