"My husband and I stayed at this hotel for six nights in May 2026 to celebrate our 30th birthday / babymoon and, unfortunately, would not return due to the extremely poor customer service experience. As both myself and my husband have experience working in hotels for 10+ years, we are still in shock at the service received. I'll start with the one and only positive of our stay which was the lady that cleaned our room each day. She was polite, friendly and happy in all interactions with us and our room was serviced daily. Thank you. On check-in, we were disappointed with the room provided and found the welcome from reception staff to be unfriendly. My husband sent a polite, private message via Booking.com simply expressing our disappointment with the room size to see if anything could be done. We would have not gone any further with this and are not the type of people to write negative reviews (especially publicly like this) I totally understand we are in a budget hotel and have stayed in many, but the actions that followed here were disgusting, unnecessary and should be highlighted. On the second day of our stay, while we were asleep in the room during the afternoon, a male member of staff entered without warning. He apologised immediately, stating he believed the room was vacant. While we accepted the apology, the incident was concerning and should not have occurred. The most disappointing experience took place on day three. After returning from a long day out, we discovered our key card had been deactivated and we were unable to access our room. As I am pregnant and was exhausted, this was particularly distressing. When we approached reception for assistance, the response we received was again unfriendly and a phone call made whilst we were asked to wait. A duty manager appeared and asked to speak with us and proceeded to lecture us in the open reception area about raising concerns via Booking.com rather than speaking directly to staff and referred to us as 'hiding behind a computer screen'. Rather than addressing our concerns professionally, the manager was dismissive and patronising. We were told that we 'should check before booking hotels' and informed that nothing could be done because all rooms were the same size. The entire interaction was unnecessary and humiliating, particularly as it appeared we were intentionally locked out of our room to make a point (with no solution). I'm not sure whether writing a private message to booking.com has negative implications for hotel management but it was clear that the manager was very angry by our message and wanted to make it known to us. Overall, this was the worst customer service experience we have encountered in a hotel. While the location is convenient to the train station it does not compensate for the lack of professionalism, poor communication, and unacceptable handling of guest concerns. We would never recommend staying here. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a budget hotel in my opinion and we have stayed in plenty but the customer service here was appalling and by far the worst we have ever had. We were left feeling uncomfortable for the rest of our stay and what should have been a special time celebrating was spoiled by this unnecessary humiliation."

"Stayed here October 2025. Hotel is in a great location. The train station is a few minutes walk away as is the city centre. The room was nice, a little on the smaller side but it was ok for us. There is a hairdryer and tv in the room. Beds were comfortable. There is a bar and restaurant downstairs but we did not use it. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would stay here again when in Nice."

"Very near the main station which was great for getting a train to Monaco. About 20 minutes walk from tram line 2 from the airport. To get to the old town and the seafront take tram line 1 about a 10 minute walk east from the hotel. The breakfast was great and the bar stayed open until midnight. Like all Ibis hotels the rooms were small but functional."
