"We have had an incredibly bad experience so far, arrogant attitude at the reception, poor service and disinterest from the staff. Plus they charged us for breakfast and we didn't get it."
Should be considered a 3-star hotel rather than a 4-star.
"Crisol Mozart is a renovated hotel located approximately 300 meters from the promenade in Nice. In my opinion, this hotel should be considered a 3-star hotel rather than a 4-star. The rooms are nicely renovated with a minimal design. However, although they have double-glazed windows, they are not soundproof, and you can hear noise from the street. Breakfast is served in the basement, with no natural daylight and a rather strange smell. When I saw the breakfast room, I was glad that we had not booked breakfast. We arrived at around 12:00, while the official check-in time is 15:00, so our room was not ready. However, the hotel stored our luggage free of charge, which allowed us to explore the city and return later when the room was ready. I would especially like to thank Maria, the receptionist, who was very helpful and took good care of us. Apart from Maria, however, the overall service was poor. 1. Slippers issue: Two days before our arrival, I called the hotel to ask whether they could provide slippers in the room. They assured me they would place them in our room. When we arrived, there were no slippers because they had not received them. No one bothered to send an email beforehand to inform us, so we could have brought our own. During our 5-night stay, we never received slippers. 2. Room cleaning: On the second day we left early in the morning and returned around 14:00, but our room had not been cleaned. I saw the maid on our floor and asked when she would clean the room. Most likely she did not speak English; she showed me a card and said something in French that I did not understand. I assumed the card had to be hung on the door when we left the room. At around 16:00, I went to reception to ask when the room would be cleaned. I was told the maid had already left because the “please clean the room” card was not on the door. There was clearly a misunderstanding, but I believe she could have simply knocked on the door. 3. Limited cleaning: When they say “cleaning,” they mean making the bed, emptying the bin, and replacing coffee and tea. If you want a proper cleaning, you must request it. In my opinion, in a 4-star hotel, cleaning the bathroom and floor daily should be standard. 4. No telephone in the room: There was no telephone in the room, so if you needed to contact reception you had to go downstairs to the front desk. 5. Although there was additional space on the left and right sides of the sink, they didn’t extend the top to make it wider, so there isn’t enough space for our personal items."
A Crappy Place. Stay away.
"Totally awful! Went out in the morning and returned tired at 5 PM. The room was a mess. Bed not made. Used wet towels on the floor. Nothing straighten or cleaned. Went down to the front desk where I was told they hadn’t gotten around to it yet. Seriously, 5 PM in the evening. On top of the that the breakfast at 9 euros a person was just awful. The bread was terrible and rock hard. The yogurt was cheap packaged crap. Even the jam was thick and goopy and the coffee was weak and almost tasteless. Processed orange juice. Nothing was fresh. Stay anyplace but here. We tried to change to another hotel and we were just blown off. BEWARE!!!!!!!! Nice is beautiful. This hotel is the pits!"
