Monsigny

"Disappointing stay at Monsigny, has lots of potential but just doesn’t deliver. When is the last time anyone stayed in a hotel without facilities to make hot drinks in their room? was told we could have a kettle if we paid a 20euro deposit, but they had no kettles left, so we were charged nearly 16 euros for 2 cups of tea! The breakfast is ok, but it’s poorly designed so everyone is trying to be in a small space getting food, making toast and getting drinks, it doesn’t work, it’s hot and feels like you’re eating in a corridor, criminal when there is a lovely seating area at the front unused until the evenings, that looks out onto the street, and would make a lovely breakfast seating area. The staff are hit and miss, some lovely, some less so. The roof terrace they advertise is only open April to September, shame as the weather was good enough to use this feature, think this needs reviewing. The rooms are dark and our junior suite was not exactly plush and the view from the window somewhat lacking for a suite, The hotel is in a great location but sadly we wouldn’t stay there again."

"The hotel was conveniently located, within walking distance to Nice Ville train station. The city tram ran along the street on which the hotel was located. The suite was clean and roomy and contained a kitchenette. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast buffet was well stocked with delicious items (too many to list here). The staff were pleasant and very helpful. The on site restaurant offered nice meals at a discount to hotel guests. When in Nice, I would gladly stay here again"

"Great location and very comfy bed. No drinks had to pay 20e deposit for a kettle. Would be improved if usual complimentary drinks in room. Having to pay 2e for small bottle of water. No full length hanging very little storage. Poor hairdryer and few sockets near mirrors for styling hair. Very basic but was clean. Roof top terrace stunning but very poor service. Made to feel unwelcome. Service in restaurant and reception very good. Wouldn't choose to return unless facilities and service Improve."
