Best Western plus Hotel de la Regate

"The hotel is located in an extremely decentralized position, but I already knew that. We had prepaid for two rooms, both were assigned to us on the ground floor, one facing the front garden with no boundaries towards the adjacent road and the other facing the back where, no more than a meter away, a beautiful forest begins that has no separation/protection from the hotel. The problem is that when we took possession of the rooms, they were full of a penetrating smell of mold and a very high level of humidity. The absurd thing is that the hotel is not equipped with an air conditioning system and, because of how the rooms were positioned, we could not keep the windows open, because we would have had no protection either from animals (we were practically a stone's throw from the woods) or from any potential intruders (the porter himself had suggested we put the car indoors to avoid nighttime surprises). In practice, both because of the heat accumulated in the rooms and the stench of mold, we spent an almost completely sleepless night, also because, according to the receptionist, there were no other rooms available to switch to."

"The "comfort" room is not air-conditioned, with a large bay window without shutters, just an interior curtain. It was 28 degrees when I arrived at 9 PM. It is good to be eco-friendly, but at least follow through with the initiative and install shutters! Very generously, a tiny table fan, ineffective and very noisy, is provided! The room on the ground floor opens directly onto the parking lot. So either stay sweating in this airless kettle or open the French door leading to the parking lot to catch a bit of the cool night air and hope that neither animal nor human enters the room while you sleep (which I resolved to do at 1 AM because it was unbearable). All this "comfort" for €205 for 2 nights! And you cannot cancel and receive a refund for the second night after realizing the situation (even with the flexible rate!). A word to the wise, goodbye!"
